Percentage chance I would put on our top recruits showing up:
Casas 0% He has been mocked as high as the Marlins at 13th overall
Cecconi 20%
Gates 30-50%
Davis 40-60%
Del Castillo 80%

Cecconi seems like a weird case where he didn't pitch at as many showcases as scouts would like last summer, and then didn't pitch at all this spring. The BA draft podcast did say that there is a backlash against HS pitchers this year among teams and an oversupply of HS RHPs in particular. Hopefully that works out in our favor, but I still think he ends up going 2nd-4th round and getting paid over slot.

My expected ranges for our current players
Romy Gonzalez Rounds 11-15 (likely to sign)
Andrew Cabezas Rounds 11-15 (likely to sign)
Frankie Bartow Rounds 15-20 (likely to sign)
Danny Reyes After Round 15 (???)

I doubt anyone else gets drafted, although it's possible some team takes a flier on Bargfeldt late.

Casas is among the handful of players attending the draft in person.

Brady Singer still hasn’t been drafted through 17 picks after being the consensus number 1 pick before the season. Starting to get concerned the Gators get him back next season.

And he goes 18th to the Royals. Surprising drop.

50 picks in. Getting into the possible range for some of our recruits particularly Cecconi.

Brennen Davis gone well above his ranking at 62nd to the Cubs. Slot is 1.1 million.

Through 78 picks and Day 1. Casas and Davis are gone. Will have to see whether Cecconi, Gates, and Del Castillo go in the early rounds tomorrow. As Davis proves, it only takes one team to really love you. Slot is currently around 750K.

Gotta sweat out 8 rounds today. If we get those 2 arms on campus plus Castillo's bat, that would be a successful draft for the Canes IMO

If Reyes doesn't come back, OF is looking really thin next year. Looks like we'll have to roll the dice on some JC transfers again.

Underway and about 10 picks into the third round. This round is only 26 picks due to some of last night's compensation picks.

Think we'll be okay even if Reyes doesn't come back. We should have 6 outfielders between Rivera, Cloonan, Jenkins, Moore, Lala, and Lane. If Lane transfers or the staff doesn't count Cloonan as an outfielder, it might not hurt to bring in a JUCO for body count purposes. Might even see one of the four freshman middle infielders move to the outfield, since it isn't a position of need with Zamora, Escala, and possibly Paige already here. One of them will probably move to third as is. All that said, hopefully we get Reyes back.

Just noticed this line from MLB.com's Day 2 preview article: "Cecconi seems almost certain to head on to Miami."

Round 4 complete. Only six HS players drafted for a total of 10 in 56 picks. Slot is now around 400K. The next couple rounds are primetime to worry about Gates and Del Castillo before we get into the senior heavy rounds.
