Yes, yes -- I know. We say it every year: "Next year's class is better anyway". But maan...

2018 is the class that will put us over the top and back to the elite status where we belong b giving us the kind of freakish depth the U is known for.

Mark Pope, Hightower, and Lingard are the definition of must-gets. They honestly are worth going on probation again if we gotta drop a couple of bags.

We already know about the stacked DB's in our backyard.

We gotta do work in recruiting next cycle for sure.

we are not getting any of those 3.

just pray for a monster close right NOW. when is the last time we had a great NSD? if we get one of those, then we actually have a legit reason to be excited about 2018.

It'll be a battle but Brooklyndee is the Hightower expert.

Sorry bud but you're dead wrong. History repeats itself. The best classes recruited since Coker and every coach after was their first full year recruiting. That means Richt has no excuses but to pull in a top 5 class. If it's top 10 but loaded with underrated South FL kids then fine. Right now the coaches know this and are busting their butts over the country. 2017 is the class.

Do you understand why that was the case? Their first full year was the best because #1 except golden they were all in house promotions. Relationships were already in place so all they had to do was go out & sell the dream. Golden's first year he simply had everyone fooled & he worked on mending the local fences. Duke made sure we were okay locally. Richt is a whole nother animal. He's not selling a dream he's giving us a future. This class is gonna be just fine but next year's class is absolutely insane. ***** all the masochistic pessimists on here. Just wait till you see results from next year. Drop all the so called experts that know we're not getting this or that cause come February you'll just look REAL stupid!

Actually agree. Doubtful on all 3.

Why do people say this dumb ****? I can't speak for either of the other two because I only have got to know them over the last two years through elite camps but far as my nephew goes he rarely even gives interviews that go in depth about anything other than the schools he's hearing from which is everybody. Stop putting words in children's mouths. Most of em Put they own feet in their mouths often enough to not need yall. By the way 2 of the 3 are very likely with one of them chasing the bags already.

Difference is:

1. I'm on record as repeatedly saying we need always max out the current year and never depend or count on the next years class.

2. Most ppl say what you bolded after a lackluster class. I think this years haul is pretty solid and has a chance to be special if we close on our OL targets.

Good points, but saying it this time of year sounds a lot like quitting on this class. Yes I know that fan focus and expectations don't help recruiting, just saying it sounds like giving up.

So was 2013, 14, 15, 16, and now 17. Can't keep looking at future classes. Pretty sure OSU, Bama, FSU, or U-M is not worried about next year classes. It's all bout the now

Rell there's a reason God gave us the power of thought... believe it or not it's not just on here they neglect this simple fact. At a certain point logic has to come interfere with stupidity (not saying u,simply in general) if with the staffs we've had in place & the overall direction of our program you felt just wait till next year than either one of two things had happened... #1 yall suffered a traumatic brain injury. Or #2 yall either thought these kids were stupid & even though they could play for anyone they wanted to play for a train wreck that could've ruined there one opportunity to get filthy. Or it was overestimated how important it is to simply play for the hometown team... it's in the past now but at some point yall gotta admit this staff basically started from the level of a mid major. We were a train wreck that no one respected. This staff ain't no part of that!
