The final stretch of the season was a tough one. I went to the Wisconsin game and I wasn't mad at the result I was disappointed and then reality hit me. This season was great, it provided excitement and seemed to have created a new era of Miami football. The turnover chain was the talk of town for months and had many wondering is Miami "back".
With RJ and McIntosh leaving, following the popular trend (IMO the wrong trend) the Dline is thin on experience in the trenches. Barring a nice close by Coach Kul it's going to be tough for the big guys to keep up all year long. Many know the games are won in the trenches.
People will look at the 2017 season and the miraculous run we had winning out at FSU and at home vs GT, the smacking we put on National TV vs ND and VT and wonder what happened at the end of the year. The QB play wasn't there and idk if it will be there in 2018. People will expect Perry to come in and look like Deshaun Watson. The new crop of DB's are talented but young. Lingard is an old breed but he's young. The reality is we are too inexperienced at every position except LB and DE.
Next year is a step in the right direction, but after watching the Clemson game the gap is farther than I thought in terms of depth. 2019 I believe will be the year. I just want fans to realize how bad we were before Richt got here, we have a gator tears thread and that thread looked like CIS during the Golden years. We can only go up so enjoy the ride.
