The bolded should be assumed with every verbal commit for the '16, '17, and all other future classes at this point.

Rivals250 tight end Tre McKitty was an early commit for Miami, but that has not stopped him from taking visits. He recently went to Auburn, Mississippi State, Florida and a few others. Florida, Auburn, Tennessee and Kentucky are the biggest threats to steal the Tampa (Fla.) Tampa Catholic 2017 prospect. McKitty will be at Florida on Friday and mentioned that his relationship with assistant coach Chris Rumph is very strong. He is going to try to visit Ohio State for Friday Night Lights, but if that does not work out he will try to visit Auburn instead.

Whats the point if committing to us. He had no reason too? Just wait it out. I hope he sticks but its just fustrating

It's known that Golden and his staff push for kids to commit, even if their recruitment is still wide open. They tried to do it with Fils-Aime before he was ready, but he opted to stick to his guns and wait until he makes up his mind. They welcome the placeholding and completely neglect how bad the constant decommitments make the program look.

McKitty just showed up to FNL decked out in gators gear and just said UF is on top despite the fact he's committed to Miami and is open to other programs.

Hate to say I told you.... but I told you.

Him and his two close friends. 2017 DE Zach Carter and 2017 RB/ATH Devan Barrett all made a pact to play together in college.

Carter listed UF his leader just the other day.

Kids not a te. Has no hands and consistently dropped balls at multiple events in the spring/summer. At best he is a de but is kinda soft...

That's four-star 2017 tight end Tre' McKitty, who is on campus tonight for Friday Night Lights.

"They're up there," McKitty told 247Sports' Luke Stampini of the Gators. "I'm a hard commit to Miami, but I still have my eyes open. I still have two years left and I have my eyes open to other schools, and Florida's at the top.

McKitty, a 6-foot-4, 220-pound tight end from Tampa (Fla.) Tampa Catholic, has been to Florida quite a bit in recent weeks.

He's back -- sporting a blue Gators shirt, no less -- because he wants to see more.

"Just to get another feel for the place, talk to the coaches a little bit," McKitty said. "I was down here last week. It was easy to get down here, so hang out with the coaches some."

Florida defensive line coach Chris Rumph has been McKitty's primary recruiter to this point. McKitty could potentially play defense at the next level, but the Gators asked him where he prefers to play.

McKitty told the staff he'd like to play on offense, so tight ends coach Greg Nord spent some time going over film with McKitty to show him how he'd be used.

"They would use me a lot," he said. "I would be down on the line as a Y or split out. They showed me different formations and stuff and how I would be used in the offense. It was just really good."

With a long way to go until the 2017 class inks, Florida will continue to recruit the Tampa native. The Gators are close, and they plan to use that to their advantage as much as possible as his recruitment unfolds.

"[Rumph's] just telling me to go ahead and come up here," McKitty said. "Of course I'm at Miami right now, but me and him have a real good relationship. We talk all the time. He just wants to see me up here."

McKitty is rated as the No. 261 overall player in the 247Composite, an industry-generated recruiting ranking. He also rates as the No. 7 tight end in the nation and the No. 38 overall player in the state of Florida.

GatorBait.net will have live updates from Friday Night Lights throughout the evening.

To me he said Florida is at the top of schools he still got his eyes on.....but that's just me

Wanted to touch on this again. Spoke with someone who plays for Paramus Catholic in NJ, they played against IMG this year. Told me McKitty more solid than we think just has peers from when he was in Tampa who tried pushing him to UF at the time. His dad's a big cane fan too.

I only want who wants us.

Also known as The Randy Shannon School of Recruiting. It´s called "recruiting" for a reason you fool. Because you have to convince/persuade (ie: recruit).

No actually not at all. You want kid that want to rep the U not be a miami committ & flaunt their gator offer. ****ing douche.

These are 16 and 17 year old kids, the majority of them bandwagoners. People with your attitude don't have the nuts to win in college football. You need to get the best talent, and in this day and age most of the best talent needs to be re-convinced every single day that you are their best option. It's not everyday you find a kid like Quarterman. And even he would have most likely started having a little doubt if Richt hadn't made him priority number 1 from his first day on the job.

If the only kids we ever get are the kids that "want us" then we are going to be 8-4, 9-3 forever.

Youre right. I hope all of our recruits walk around in gators gear flaunting their offer. My mistake.
