2017 QB recruting

Perry has some dual threat ability, but when you watch film on him, he's always looking to throw the ball. Most dual threat QB's, once they get running abandon the pass. I'm not saying he's Deshaun Watson, but they have a similar style of play in that regard.

The other thing I LOVE about Perry is his deep ball. I likened it to Danny Wuerffel's in that it has a beautiful trajectory and just falls into the WR's hands almost like a feather. He throws a very catchable ball long and also has the arm strength to make any throw.

He's going to make some school happy on signing day and I'd be thrilled if it was us. If we land him, it would be the happiest I've been with the position in at least a decade.

Happier than when we landed Kaaya?

That's kind've an absurd comment.

Jon Richt has pretty much moved to Ocala and that's a smart move. N'Kosi Perry is a special player.

He's athletic but he's not a runner. Great feel for the rush, flashes excellent accuracy, and always looks downfield when he leaves the pocket.

He kind of reminds me of Russell Wilson with the ability to loft the ball and drop it in a bucket.

He committed to be a Cane and has been solid so far, I feel we should continue to make him a priority to that class. We definitely wouldn't want to see him on the opposite huddle. If we can land someone better go for it but we definitely need a dual threat. I know some feel we already have Allison and Sherrifs but who knows how they will pan out and if he doesn't come in and beat them out right.

Why is it absurd? Perry does everything that Kaaya displayed at the same point and then some. His stats are better as well. Just looking at the film, I don't see why anyone would rate Kaaya higher.

Seeing the same things I am....in particular the soft touch on the deep ball.

Perry has all the potential in the world. As stated before, very good feel for the pocket and always looking downfield. He does need a QB Coach to rep his footwork. It is very inconsistent. He will either have good mechanics and step into the throw, throw off his back foot, or sometimes even jump in the air to throw. Nothing that a QB coach can't solved. The fact that he has that a good of a touch even with his flawed footwork is impressive. Right now he is dominated with the majority of the throws being all arm.

Not that it matters at all, but it's surprising to see Jake Allen rated a four-star recruit while Perry's a mid-three star.

Perry appears to have a much higher ceiling, superior physical tools, and has picked up offers from the likes of Georgia, Tennessee, Louisville, and West Virginia over the past month. Meanwhile, Allen's 247 page shows that he hasn't picked up a single offer since committing to Florida back in July.

What. In. The. Fvck?!

2019, barring any transfers, we expect to have Jack Allison as a RS JR, Evan Shirreffs as a RS SR, and a RS SO for who ever our 2017 QB is....
That spells transfer for the 2017 QB because he's going to have to work his tail off just to play 1 year and be asked to transfer so that the 2018 QB doesn't have to do the same. It's bad for the team to go through a different QB every year. At some point we have to have that Freshman or RS Freshman come in and start so that receiver recruits know it's a dependable QB returning. This means that if the 2017 QB is not good enough to beat out Allison, he will most likely end up a depth QB regardless.

I would rather get another Evan Shirrefs type player to fill the 2017 slot, someone who wants and values the education, will work hard and possibly compete for a shot at the starting role when needed. But someone we can depend on to fill the depth chart and not transfer out.
I feel like if we stick with N'Kosi, he will think he is too good to sit and wait his turn, and will end up transferring and leave us needing to grab 2 QB's in one cycle.

If we can bring in someone who has the same attitude that Jack Allison displayed in his tweet saying "he ain't scared of competition" then bring him on. I don't think N'Kosi is going to be scared to compete with Allison, but I don't trust he will stay with the program if he isn't in line to start by his 3rd year here.

lmao dude stfu

Does anybody know if this kid intends on being an early enrollee? It seems like a lot of the elite quarterbacks are enrolling early over the past few years.

What. In. The. Fvck?!

I just watched the first 5 minutes of his film and what jumps out at me is I don't see throws into tight windows. Just over the top throws and not a single crossing pattern. At least in the first 5 minutes. Will continue to watch but Brad Kaaya's film was completely different from that standpoint.

Jake Allen is a more ready for the college game today. He can make all the throws you'd want your QB to make. He's had a lot of private coaching and is fundamentally more sound than Perry. Perry has a higher ceiling, he's bigger physically and a better athlete.
