Why is Georgia still ahead of our class?
Do you think MR made a good enough effort this year for us?
Why did he not press harder to sway their top recruits to come with him?

Cause CMR had a top 5 class before he left UGA.....where were we?
He maintained a solid class which is what we needed for a guy just hired. Next years class is where it's on Richt.
The more important thing is we already have talent and now the staff to coach them up

Uga has had at least top 10 class the last 6 years.... Mark richt is a big reason for that.... He don't offer that many reaches just to take up space

Patience is needed, give the man a chance and see how he coaches and recruits next year. He has a proven recruiting track record under normal circumstances, why pre-judge?

Because the kids from Georgia still have pride in the school even when they aren't doing well. They all aren't front runners like the S. FL kids

The thought with a new coach is always that a bunch of his current commits will follow him to his new school. It doesn't actually happen, it's usually just 1 or 2.

Malek Young was committed to Georgia, so we did flip 1 Georgia commit.

Immediate impact players in this group. Best group talent wise Miami has signed in a long time

You expect a guy who spends the last two years telling recruits UGA is the place they need to be to be able to walk in a month before signing day and say "oh kidding, come to Miami"?

As for effort every time you jumped on Twitter the entire coach in staff was in a different city. The dead period ended three weeks before signing day and there is nothing you can do at that point

Really? He was hired less than 2 months before signing day, his staff took time to come together, he managed to salvage the 2016 class, got finley and Richards to commit, taking all that into account your still questioning him? He did the best he could with what he had and if you ask me he did a good job, next years class will be better, his recruits, his evaluation. Your comment sir is unwarranted. JMO

better question why was Richt let go..

He couldn't beat Florida or Alabama consistently, especially Florida the last couple of years. I'm not sure why he decided to play Bauta the entire game. If Chubb didn't get hurt, I don't think he would have been fired, but I know they've been unhappy for a long time. The Sunday after the UF game, the biggest boosters met with their AD, and wanted Richt gone then. I have watched a lot of their games, and the team has come out lifeless more than a few times. I am hoping that he will be energized getting to coach the way he wants to at Miami.

As far as recruiting goes, I'd imagine Smart had contact with most of the same players that UGA was after, so it probably wasn't hard to keep the relationships there, whereas Richt and the coaches had to go introduce themselves to a lot of kids late in the process. Listening to the recent interviews, he had to watch film on the kids already recruited, to see if he even wanted to keep them.

He played Alabama 3 times since Saban was there(2007)...don't think they really had any effect on his firing. The main thing outside of the UF rivalry was that him and the AD was at a disconnect while Richt still hadn't signed his extension that he was offered. UGA saw that USCe was going after Kirby Smart and had him as someone they wanted to get when Mark Richt fails enough to get fired. USCe forced them to go after him a little earlier so Richt got fired in a year where the overall year was good enough to save his job so they could hire Kirby Smart ( A UGA alumni )

Please tell me who beats Alabama consistently? I don't know if I can think of a team off the top of my head who has beat them more than once in the last 6-7 years (maybe Ole Miss?)

You mention the last couple years with UF, but rumor is the reigns were taken from his hands so maybe that has something to do with it, and prior to that it was Urban at UF, who like Saban, does not get beat on the regular.
