Been waiting for this one, was just released today.

One word. Electrifying.

He makes it look so easy, it's like a video game when you watch him play.

Love his ability in the pass game. Tough kid too for his size. Want to see more on pass protection though.

5'11"
180

Even though I think he's lighter than that, very thin but hey who gives a crap. Kid can play.

I pray the staff locks this one up for next year. Knowing that we have his brother coming in this year for 2015 on the DL.

Deon McIntosh, Ivan Smith, Keyshawn "Pie" Young, etc. from 2016. Those are the types of versatile, speed killing kids that made Miami.... well Miami.

Geo,

I'm assuming he has an offer? Is he leaning towards us? If his brother sticks will that really seal it or help lock it up?

He does have an offer and Miami is on him. As for where he's leaning to, last was said that he would like to play with his brother. As for sealing the deal having his brother idk on that end.

Many kids now even if older brother or any kind of relation to that said recruit doesn't guarantee anything. I'm sure it does help in a way yes. But no guarantees.

I think he's ours, IMO.

Offers have been piling in for him recently and will continue.

Thanks Homie.

Been saying for a while he is j favorite RB in the class as well as Rasul. Watching him for a while he also has the versatility to give you an option at receiver.

Would appreciate thoughts of guys who actually know how to evaluate, because this is an uneducated observation: he looks like a slot receiver to me.

I know it is a popular sentiment on this board to immediately try to switch players to another position. I don't see dex as a slot, he looks like a back to me. This guy looks more slender and very fluid in space, but I don't see yearby like cutting ability, more one cut and go. He also (and this is where my knowledge is lacking) appears to have very high pad level despite a big forward lean. Like doing squats, though, I would think good pad leverage comes from leg bend (which I don't see) rather than waist bend, which I do see.

Just something that jumped out to me. Would love to have the kid onboard in any capacity.

I agree here on your thoughts.

He's versatile as I said IMO. I'm not sure where he would play at in college. It depends how he fills out as well. But he's the type of athlete we want here.

People forget that Duke Johnson was first being looked at by colleges as a DB.

Yearby has elite cutting ability and footwork that was known for the longest time.

As for Dexter I expect him to be at RB yes but I don't see why he can't be used in slot sparingly. I mean we did this a bit already with Duke and Yearby. It's nothing new. Dexter a big kid already, about 195 and definitely looking at 200+ next year.

In that case looks like the staff will go another direction. They don't what miami speed is or how it's used

I coached against him this season. It's really hard for me to figure out whether he's Miami caliber or not but I'm leaning towards NO. Great high school Running Back, no doubt, but we had more difficulty stopping a RB from Coral Reef than we did McIntosh.

He doesn't seem to possess that "sudden-ness" you'd expect from a thin kid.

He reminds me of a kid that would be playing at Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan State, etc. His brother, however, is the real deal Holyfield.

That is great to hear. I've never watched him aside from highlights. How would you compare him to a kid like Moten?

@ coach macho, "suddenness" is a good way to put what I don't see at the rb position. Thanks for the eval.

Oh I don't know bro. Hard for me to say cause I haven't seen Moten in person or played against him. With McIntosh I've coached against him and watched his game film. Kid was simply a bully on the field. He's huge too. At least 275.

Yea he lacks explosivness you need in a RB but the kid is still young lets see how he develops.

Playing the odds...we will slow play 2 of the 3.
