*UPDATE BELOW*

TIFWIW, which isn't very much, I realize. Just found it a little interesting. Thought you all might like to see

2015 DT Mikorri (or Korri) Reese out of Neville High School in Louisiana. Kid's a friend of Standish Dobard's I guess

Not terrible sophomore highlights, obviously has work to do to get the offer.

His team went 13-1 losing to Edna Karr in the State Championship, so he's got some talent to be starting as a sophomore.

*UPDATE*

Thought I would give you all an update on this kid with the completion of his junior season and our unsolved issues at DT.

This is a good kid who has that hungriness and swagger I think our D line has been severely lacking. His measurables still aren’t prototypical, so I know this thread will catch some heat.

He stands at 6 foot flat, weighs 260 right now, and with the season being over I would expect another 10-15 pounds to be put on that frame by the time the spring/summer camp circuit starts heating up.

Currently can bench 310 lbs. and has a squat max of 525 lbs. Runs a 40 in five seconds flat.

He shows a good burst off the snap, and uses both his leverage and hands well to get around lineman. His strength allows him to hold set at the line of scrimmage and watch the backfield before shedding a blocker to make a play.

Has started the last two years for his team, Neville High School in Monroe, LA, who enjoyed another very successful season, going 12-1 and losing only in the 4A state semifinals to the team that would go on to lose in the championship to perennial Louisiana powerhouse Edna Karr.

This season Mikorri registered 35 tackles, three sacks, and two forced fumbles.

He’s attended camps at LSU and Bama, earning praise from D-line coaches for his power at the point and his hustle. Has seen interest from both Coach Carroll and Coach Franklin, and plans on attending an Al Golden Football Camp this upcoming summer to secure an offer.

While entertaining interest from all who come knocking at the moment, the kid is all Cane if offered, and would gladly pass up a starting role at another institution just to be in the Orange & Green.

So, if the video lists 6 Ft, I'm guessing he's more like 5'10/5'11...Deadrin Senat size? But probably without the Senat "strong as an ox" strength

I can remember a 1984 kid who wanted to play QB for the Canes, unfortunately I was 5'10" and weighed 140 and had never played QB before.

im in agreement with everyone that its a little too early, but these louisiana are big, gotta see some of these highlights some of these kids look like they should be in the NFL already, we need to recruit more of these guys

im a monster in the trenches and will get the job done..i have what it takes to be a cane and currently i am 6ft 250 pounds i just turned 17 and will be a junior this fall,,any colledge that recruit me will be glad. but my heart is at the U_MIAMI
NOT one "fan" on this site is paid A MILLION DOLLARS PLUS to evaluate talent. If you are UM good, AL Golden will come calling. Good Luck and Go Canes. Also, odds are pretty good that NO ONE FAN on this site started on the D-Line, on a team that played for a state title at 15. Haters.......... hate lol
DESERVE VICTORY!

Hey, I love the fact the kid goes to camps and competes, when he goes to Golden's camp he can really see him for himself...Louisiana is producing some great HS talent down there

247 reporting an offer, might be non-committable. Regardless, pretty proud of the kid. You guys don't realize what a tough background this kid comes from. His coaches aren't even active in his recruitment because they don't get paid enough to care. Rough family life as well. Certainly pulling for him. Old school Cane type

Kid plays like an SEC lineman already. He looks better the Ryan fines to me.

For the style of two gap control defense UM run's currently reese is no where near Fines as a NT, so ya'll need to stop trying to denigrate Ryan Fines. Reese plays against smaller OL now in hgh school but playing against a FBS Guard and Center he would get blown of the LOS despite having the natural leverage position. There times in his highlights he is blown off the ball but uses his spin move to get free an chase the ball carrier, if he tries that against lets say trevor Darling or McDermott he will pancked 10 out of 10 times.

When evaluating Dlinemen for UM's current system you have to watch their hand placement and also how thoroughly they control the OL in front of them and not just that they can slip the block and go because slipping an go will hang the LB behind them out to dry in our scheme.

UM can find smaller NT's here locally if they want to go that route, such as Brandon Boyce and Jarred McGahee. I wish young mr. Reese all the luck in the world with landing a college offer to secure his education.

As for playing like an SEC linemen, the kid I wanted UM tp pursue from Louisiana TD Moton just committed to Bama, now he plays like a SEC linemen.
