De-commits:
WR: Trevill Holcy (de-committed 3/26/2014) Never offered
- OK
T: Kevin Feder (flipped to O$U 6/22/2014) Replaced w/ Tyree St. Louis (7/29/14)
- No, we didn't just all of a suddenly recruit St. Louis once Feder bailed on us.
OG: Leeward Brown (flipped to West Virginia 10/28/2014) Replaced w/ Bar Milo (8/27/14)
- No, Milo didn't replace him. Milo was supposed to be in addition to Brown, not to mention the fact that one is a guard and the other is a tackle. It's whatever because Brown sucks anyways. Should have never been offered.
OT: Geron Christian (de-committed on 11/26/2014) Replaced w/ Jahair Jones (12/15/14)
- No, If Jones is replacing anyone it's the soon to be departed Ereck Flowers. But like Brown, Christian sucks so it's whatever.
We had Fedder, Brown, Mahoney, Gauthier, Brown committed by 6/24.
Then got Tyree St. Louis, Brendan Loftus after Fedder flipped.
Then we got Bar Milo, everyone knew we are not taking 7 OL this class.
Then Brown and Christian de-committed and we sign Jones and are left with 6 OL.
Who replaced who? I don't know, but I do know that we upgraded the position with the last 4 OL commits (St. Louis, Loftus, Milo, Jones) I would take these guys over Fedder, Brown and Christian. Looking over the list of the 9 OL that were once committed Fedder, Brown and Christian are in my bottom 6 and St. Louis Milo and Jones are in my top 3.
RB: Jordan Cronkrite (de-committed 9/13/2014) Replaced w/ Mark Walton
- No, we offered him and he committed under the premise that we would only have 3 RB's. We ****ed it up. God forbid something happen with Dexter or Scarlett.
Cronkrite was not offered until late in the game and he committed pretty fast. After some other guys committed after him he decided to leave. Was he lied to? Maybe or maybe the staff did not expect Walton to reclassify or Scarlett to commit, I don't know but fact of the matter is we got 3 guys who are potentially better than him.
TE: Bowman Archibald (flipped to Wake Forest 9/21/2014) Replaced w/ Jerome Washington
- So no big deal that Wake Forest straight up stole one of our commits? Get ******* real.
Sure we lost a recruit to Wake Forrest but I like Washington much better than Archibald. And I'm pretty sure he didn't leave because of he wanted to be on a better team or have better coaching staff.
No real need to replace:
K: Drew Galitz (flipped to Baylor 8/26/2014) Goudis will be back for 2 more years and Badgley was a true freshmen who can still redshirt if he loses to Goudis next year.
- Lose best punt/kicker prospect in the nation...not a big deal. Again, get ******* real. If there's no need to replace him, why offer him in the first place? Don't you dare tell me because we didn't yet know about the awesomeness that is Michael Badgley.
Badgley was the #1 kicker on 247 in 2014, so what? We can't afford to carry 2 to 3 kickers on scholarship for the next 2 years. I'm not saying the staff didn't want him when he de-committed, I'm just saying there is no need to replace him with another kicker.
WR: Emonee Spence (de-committed on 12/09/2014) We got 3 WR last year (Brady, Berrios, Langham and only lose Dorsett)
- Spence was the very first WR we took a commitment from. Only Charles Perry and Mark Walton committed earlier in this class. Brady and Langham have combined for as many catches as me, so just them being on scholarship has nothing to do with anything. But like Christian and Brown, he sucks so it's whatever.
Brady and Langham have combined for as many catches as Spence. Spence was offered prior to his senior year. Staff did not stay in touch after his senior season. Maybe they had better options? Maybe they didn't expect Chatman and 4 2016 WR to commit? I don't know. Despite how incompetent some of you think the staff is, I don't think they would not contact a recruit that they really wanted in this class.
These are the 3 guys that we still need to replace:
DT: Quentez Johnson (de-committed 5/6/2014) Committed for less than a week during the summer
-Biggest weakness on the team and it hasn't been addressed in 4 years. Terrible.
LB: Claude George (de-committed on 10/16/2014) De-committed after Barrow left.
- LB depth is dog**** for next season, and if what I heard is true about what really happened with Barrow, then I 100% put this on Golden.
QB: Dwayne Lawson (de-committed on 12/18/2014) Does not want to wait 2-3 years.
- Most important position in the entire game. You need at least 1 each year. When Golden first got here, he intimated that Bridgewater split because he wouldn't allow him to be the only QB in the class. 4 years later we return only 2 scholarship QB's, just like when he arrived. Complete failure by Al Golden even by his own standards.
I agree with you on these 3 positions and stated as much. We need to find good replacement for these guys.
It's not all gloom and doom like everyone makes it out to be.
- Yes it ******* is! This program is dog**** right now and this recruiting class reflects it.
I don't agree and don't think the 11 de-commitments reflect as much as everyone is making it out to be.
