Let's get some four-five stars on that list

Why are people so infatuated with Stars. the kids film tells everything.

because recently the teams that have been winning national championships have been cleaning up in recruiting in terms of stars...yes coaching is just as if not more important but recent history has shown that stars lead to success, besides a coach that has proven to be average at best in terms of x's and o's and player development is gonna need all the help he can get.

Let's get some four-five stars on that list

Why are people so infatuated with Stars. the kids film tells everything.

Quick Fact: Top 10 2014 Draft Talent
Johnny Manizel: 2 star
Kahlil Mack: 2 star
Blake Bortles: 3 star
Eric Ebron: 3 star
Justin Gilbert(top cb in draft) : 3 stars
aaron donald: 3 stars

i will gladly take a kid: like Jalean Perkins Orlando Olympia DB 6-0 170 no stars (Miami only offer so far) who on film looks like he runs a 4.2 and makes plays.

Those guys are the exception not the rule. Infatuated with stars? Why? See FSU and Bamas last four classes.

Dont you think that many rankings will change later?

Emonee Spence looks like Travis Rudolph in the early stages last year. He has the potential to pick up stars on the 7 v 7 circuit.

I may have to go back and look at Spence's highlights, but from what I remember, Rudolph's junior film was amazing. He looked electric and everybody felt we had a steal in him...before he blew up.

I don't get the same feeling from Spence's highlights.

Rudolph's sophomore film blows Spence's away IMO. He wasnt the specimen he was as a senior obviously but you could definitely see it was there. He ran like a deer. Spence just doesn't look fast. I don't care much for random listed 40 times, he just doesnt appear fast to me, not as fast as Rudolph has ever looked. I am biased though, I was going crazy when I saw Rudolph's film and I actually ended up getting that one right......it happens every so often.

Perry or Archibald for both, everyone else are projects I'm tired of taking, this class is shaping up to be horrible, I hope some big time players with connections can turn it around, if not, this year will be a major setback. A little off topic, but I question what is Golden's recruiting philosophy other than recruiting Jersey, does he go for size, speed or what. We are good at evaluating DEs but why bring in DE's that fit a 4-3 perfectly for example.

Demetrius Jackson never even put pads on this time last year and is now a superstar here but you're tired of "projects" even though its March 11 months before they sign?

When have or did I ever criticize D.Jack? If you do not realize the problem we are creating with taking these suspect players with our numbers than your crazy. Throw away the stars for every recruit but film speaks for itself, these players minus perry and archibald are suspect. A lot of these players, not all, also provide us with minimum connections to other good prospects. I can go on and on but I'll save that for later.

Its March and 11 months before any of these kids sign and we're "debating" about 16 year olds mostly.............. do you not see something extremely wrong with that?

stars DO matter to a degree

our best WR, CB, RB, S were all extremely highly-rated coming into college.

coincidentally, they are also all from Miami.

I like Perry.

The list means little at this point. Some will prob be dropped (happens every year), some will chose a different school.

WR: Emonee Spence
TE: Bowman Archibald, Trevill Holcy
OT: Kevin Feder
OG: Leeward Brown
DT: Ryan Fines
OLB: Charles Perry

2 questions:

Who's your favorite?

Who makes the biggest impact?

The quality of this list really depends on the size of this class. If it is going to be a big class, I think all are takes outside of Holcy and Feder (need to see more). If it is going to be a small class theres only 2-4 I'd take. None of these guys really get me excited outside of maybe Archibald who looks like a man child.

This is like picking the prettiest fat girl.
I'm gonna be updating this thread throughout the cycle.

Dan,

I like that idea.. keeps everyone in the loop, more interested in the recruiting process, and seeing how are class fills out.
Also holds people accountable for their statements when they try to shift the narrative.
