2014 team will be the best team we have had in 10 years.

To me when I see Morris hurl the ball 70 yards down the field, & make those tough corner high velocity throws it reminds me of Marino in his prime throwing to Duper & Clayton. Morris has a cannon & that's why he reminds me of Marino imho.

Neg away if you must.

Stephen Morris has more then just the strongest arm of any QB in CFB.... he is deadly accurate to.

Who else have you seen consistenly make those passes to their receivers perfectly targeted to the back shoulder?? No matter what part of the field the offense is at, i've seen Morris make those throws time and time again.

In the redzone he's destroyed defenses w/ those throws... its impossible to stop. His passes usually are thrown so the receiver can catch the ball in stride which takes accuracy and timing.

He also makes those passes on those out routes on the money.... Stacy Coley would've took that pass to the house against USF if he didnt trip up, and that TD pass to Herb Waters against Florida was a perfect pass.

Morris's accuracy is definitely underrated by this fan base.

Im comfortable saying that 2014 will be our first ever national championship in an even numbered year.

While I am excited about next year, it is hard to think about next year now. Also I can't definitively say we will be the best team we've had in 10 years. We lose our starting QB, we lose our starting DT, Denzel may leave, Clive may leave. Time willl tell but the future looks bright.

Whether next years team will be great will come down to the QB. If williams steps up or olsen progresses well, thats the key. Its a shame we had to burn SMorris' redshirt, though he may of left anyway this year

I don't see Marino. I see Aaron Rodgers. I just saw Rodgers step into a pass and throw it as far as he could, about 65 yards for a td against Baltimore.

Vick can throw it farther but who knows where the ball goes.
That's where Morris is special. He makes elite passes.
Yes, he makes a bad throw once in a while, although this year I'd say half his questionable throws seem to be miscommunication.
I blame that on the fact that out of 5 games he's really only played two of them.

I want to make it clear that I'm not saying Morris, as a qb is in Rodgers' class right now, but that he has the physical abilities to be that good.
Whether he becomes that good is really up to Morris and his football IQ and work ethic.

The physical tools are, without doubt, elite.

I see what you're saying about the Rogers comparison & my comparison to Marino had to do with arm strength and velocity on the ball only. Morris to me has a Marino like cannon for an arm. Look at some old footage of Marino & he chucked the ball 60-70 yards with ease plus the velocity on the outs/corner routes, Morris appears to do the same. That's where the Morris/Marino comparison ends with me.

Can't wait for Morris to leave honestly. Bash away

Pecos - Morris certainly has some flaws, particularly accuracy at times, but I think he'll be tough to replace.

He wont be tough to replace. Morris has physical skills but I dont think he's smart which makes it hard to win championships.

We forget what a smart QB brings to the table. At Miami, the smart QB wins the hardware - not the big arm.

Replacing a QB is always very difficult.. That said if we replace him with a season vet, we could talk big time bcs bowl, especially with FSU at home next year.

This board will be contaminated with Stephen Morris threads next year. Same ****bags trashing him will be praising him when our QBs can't make the impossible throw like Morris can.

First off, though I appreciate the insight to next year, let's just first enjoy what we are doing this year, been a long long long time since we can actually legitimately enjoy a season like this, and realistically have high hopes. Not to mention the fact that we actually see a light at the end of the tunnel. So I will enjoy the process, because this process actually is worth it.

With that said, to honor the OP, I do believe next year we can be even better than this year, I think Williams has shown the growth we could've wanted so far this year, he has gotten stronger, has gotten real experience this year to lessen the blow of a new starting quarterback, on the O line we only really lose 2 guys, so offensively the weapons will be there to make the transition to Williams easier. On D, the one concern I have is replacing Porter and Perryman. And trust me, he is gone after this year. From what I know, he will most likely be gone. And in all honesty, he should, his stock is most likely not going to improve on account of his measurables. But by all accounts we have some guys the staff really likes to step in for DP, so that leaves Porter, and I have been saying before the season, as have others, how huge a factor the big hoss is to our D, and we have seen it. Finding that replacement is the lynchpin to maintaining or improving upon what this D has done.

With that said, will worry about that when the final whistle blows on this season. Til then just sit back and enjoy this ride

I've criticized Morris but I gotta admit this season he's been great. He's spreading the ball around and making phenomenal passes (nothing new there). Morris is the truth and he will take us very far this year. I was wrong about him.

No one will leave early if we don't win the national championship this year. Everyone in that locker room knows how good this team can be next year.

I can see Walford, Dorsett, and Perryman all leaving early.

Not a chance all three of them leave early. I'd be surprised if any leave early to be honest.

We all obviously know how good Perryman is, but in a national perspective, he's not as highly regarded as our fanbase makes him out to be. I'm not saying he's not one of the best LBs in the country, but nobody outside Miami fans notice how good he is. Obviously scouts pay more attention than the regular CFB fan, but he hasn't done enough to warrant a 1st or 2nd round grade which is the only scenario in which he would leave early.

Yep. Same guys who wanted Berlin over Dorsey.

Perryman has a kid on the way. He is gone.

Gino and Erickson could chuck it all over the field with a little gas, so that's not entirely true. I loved watching Gino throw deep, he had a fairly slow delivery but threw beautiful rainbow bombs like nobody else. But Morris has a fastball none of the guys who have played at the U can match, not even Vinny.

FWIW, I still feel Morris has vision issues over the middle third of the field, especially short to intermediate. But on the outside and deep stuff, he's really, really good. Traditional NFL scouts and coaches are going to fall in love with him and if he continues having a good season, I just don't see how he doesn't go in the first round. He's going to murder at the combine and Pro Day.

Berlin came in with the 01 or 02 class if I recall. Either way I doubt we had fans calling for a gator transfer to play over a heisman finalist & national champion.
