For those of you who don't 2014 Deerfield Beach (Fla.) running-back Brandon Powell committed to the university of Tennessee on June 16, 2013.

Although Miami pulled the trigger today and offered the standout prospect.

But his response was: "Nothing has changed. I'm still 100% a Volunteer."

It might be a good fit for the kid too. He won't win very much but Tennessee has NO running back depth or play makes. None. I hope he sees the hometown team is the better team though. I would love to see him in our offense.

Thats the reason I was wondering why everyone was celebrating on the board. It aint easy flipping a kid thats committed to an SEC school it will not be easy as some may think. Miami doesn't have the prestige where they can offer a kid and at the snap of a finger he decommits.

Too early to think he would just flip. But after TENN gets stomped up and down Knoxville again this year and we make that leap to a legit 9-10 win team we will see what his stance is. He better get on at some point though before its too late. We win 10 games and win the ACC we are gonna stop calling alot of these kids we are offering a la' Travis Johnson because the big boys will come callin. (knock on wood)

People are happy Miami offered him, give the SEC **** a rest, no one said he was going to instantly de-commit.

Travis Johnson & Miami parted ways because he got in trouble - Tito

check his twitter....dude was solidly happy about the offer.

But wasnt expecting him to decommit right away..he's a kid we recruit for awhile anyway..because honestly were a little late to the Powell party compared to other schools.

But like i said..Dennis Turner is a friend of his our new commit..and dude will get local pressure more than likely at some point....

Either way im not stressing it...as i believe that offer is out there and if he decides not to take..The Berrios kid is on call.

Powell is not a done deal because I said it the weekend Alin first committed that Powell wanted to be a Cane so this can change at anytime.

Well here is Alin Edouards test of persuasive leadership, he needs to work on Powell to flip commitments to UM. Edouard needs to take the leadership role and get this kid for UM, he mentioned he wants to earn the QB job, well it start building a supporting cast willing to follow you.

Alin is trying even before the offer he was tweeting Powell about UM and this actual site so that isn't the problem

Bump./Update: Brandon apparently lit it up today at the CVCD Camp.

I also see that Rivals has an article up on him. Apparently Miami hasn't stopped recruiting the **** out of him.

Good, because I'm a huge fan of this young man!

Well its up to him now to make the choice before his ship sails because space is filling up quickly. He may want to play the game and stay committed to Tenn as long as possible or he may want to see how UM does against UF this year. But i will say this he did grow up roting for FSU and wanted a FSU offer badly.

So unfortunately, he could be stringy UM along to just play games with his dream schools rival. This is smething to watch carefully and how Coley plays this one having been an FSU insider.

he's not waiting to see how UM does vs uf. of course winning in general helps a program recruit better, but, a win or a loss vs one team doesn't really affect kids. that's plain dumb. a win vs uf isn't going to stop a kid from going to uf or make a kid want UM.

If you think kids aren't that fickle now a days your delusional, especially in game of that magnitude in Florida with all that SEC bull crap being spouted. Either way I would welcome the kid if flips to UM, and he would be a good asset.

Normally I would agree these kids dont care whos winning most of the time but fsu and uf right now are (according to these young kids) better programs then Miami. Winning those two games can change alot this season and if we keep losjng to them ypu will keep hearing kids like Quincy saying the U is done ****.
The acc title is important bit a victory over UF which I think is the better D (imma d man all the way) would be really really big...,...that game will make espn and everyone else talk about the U. That SEC nonsense can be put tobed early in the season......than everyone can say wow the ACC got some good football teams this year of course theres fsu and clemson and now miami......big game with huge implications.

again, winning in general helps and certainly beating your rivals helps. but, beating uf in one game isn't changing moten or clark's mind. they may flip, but, I doubt they will say they chose a school b/c they beat another school. it'd be more like, go 10 and 1 and win the acccg and make a bcs game and the program is turning around. not just beating uf. winning in general. yes, uf and fsu are better programs right now.
and, i'll add, it can't do anything but hurt us. winning isn't going to make a north florida kid want to go to UM over uf or fsu, but, losing hurts more b/c it shows south florida kids UM isn't catching uf or fsu and maybe they should go elsewhere.
in either case, beating uf isn't changing powell's mind.
