Hate to open up old wounds, but we all know Terry Porter screwed us of our 2nd consecutive National Title, but the fact is we struggled to get to OT...my question is, do you think we still win that game IF Willis did not get his knee blown out? I mean Payton was cool, but come on, he wasn't on Willis McGahee level.

If they put Jason Geathers as backup running back instead of WR for that game, we win that game. Payton was a good running back but Geathers was better.

Or if they pulled Gore's redshirt. I mean we could have won that game 1000 different ways. We just...didn't. Sigh.

Miami didn't play well. OSU carried the play most of the game...which in of itself was inexcusable.

Miami, like FSU this year, had frankly been playing like crap for most of the year but had been skating by. While it was a bad call, Miami wasn't a championship caliber team in 02. They played way under their talent level especially on defense.

Do we have to do this? I'll have to admit that it was two years before I watched another football game or cared again. It was the night I realized what college athletics is all about and I'll never invest myself that much into something again. Still love Canes sports but that crap made it all worthless for a while.

Why are we bringing this **** up? You don't feel ****ty enough about things?

I said, sorry to open up old wounds...lol. I just remember McGahee getting some traction and then, in a flash, the whole balance dynamic went out the window.

Ther officiating set the pace for the entire game. Had any of the half dozen blltant late hits by OSU* been called in the FIRST quarter, we blow them out.

1986 Fiesta Bowl was a far more painful loss. I only got over that game with the 2001 title.

That game was inexcusable...we were sooooooooooooooooooooo much better than PSU. We should've won that game by at least 2 TDs...man, that hurt, but at least that team didn't get hosed by an Akron, OH ref by the name of Terry Porter.

Yes. I've never rewatched the game, but I distinctly remember Willis finding his groove in that game right before the injury.

Or if Sean would of just kneeled it in the end zone instead of running it out.

The Taylor strip play may have been the worse call in sports. Since taylor intercepted the ball he became the offensive player and in the event of ball tie up the tie goes to the offensive player.
