The Taylor strip play may have been the worse call in sports. Since taylor intercepted the ball he became the offensive player and in the event of ball tie up the tie goes to the offensive player.

This. I remember the announcers saying that it should of been Miami ball. By rule dual possession belongs to the ball carrier. The ball didn't change possession until after he was down. Killer momentum shift. Stings worse knowing Taylor takes that back for 7 without Clarett getting ahold of the ball.

Ohio St couldn't do **** on offense. Krenzel was 7-21 with 2 picks. Clarrett had 23 carries for 47 yards.

The 4th and 13 was ridiculous, Sharpe blew the coverage. Taylor was ****ed.

Miami, like FSU this year, had frankly been playing like crap for most of the year but had been skating by. While it was a bad call, Miami wasn't a championship caliber team in 02. They played way under their talent level especially on defense.

I wouldn't say that at all. We played poorly vs FSU but still won.

We smoked UF early in the year. We were crushing VTech until we tried that throw back to Dorsey instead of giving McGahee his 7th TD (would have been 56-21).

FSU, Pitt, and VTech were the only teams with in 17 pts of us all year. Were they as good as 2001, not close but it wasn't like we were winning close every game like 2002 * or 2014 FSU.

I blame Shannon for that. Allowing a true frosh db to be matched up against the oppositions best wr who had a first rs grade. Smh. Yea, Jenkins did push off but you don't allow that match up as a dc. Osu* took advantage of another mis match with the gamble shape flag play. Good coaching and scouting on osu's part. **** poor personel usuage by miami.

The irony is that Jenkins made more contact with Sharpe on that 4th down play than Sharpe did with Gamble on the other.
 
Wow there is really nothing to talk about when a canes fan, not an Ohio state fan, brings up that game. U sir suck

This admin has caused us to reminisce on some 10 yr ish b/c there ain't ish to talk about in 2014. We're regulated to talking about sneakers and the past nowadays. smdh.
 
Ugh. Even seeing those few snippets of the game during The U Part 2 made me cringe.

You want to know how badly that game still stings? My oldest son is in 7th grade. Last night he told me that one of his teachers is an Ohio State grad. I went on a 20 minute rant about how Miami should've won three NCs in a row but got screwed out of two of them, about how everyone knows it was a bad call, about how the players from 00-02 left a permanent mark on the NFL, even made fun of the Buckeye mascot.

The poor kid just stared at me.

I'm 50/50 on whether or not I hope he mentions it to the teacher.

I always wanted to know.... Gamble was their second best receiver. Where was rolle, jennings, or even Marshall?

Could be worse, you could live in $uckeyeland and have to deal with these $ucknuts on a regular basis. Many times they won't approch you when you wear 'Canes gear, they must think we are armed like Tony Montana. However, some want to prove there $uckeyeness by bringing it up. Good luck trying to explain the nuances to their brain dead @$$es...I just usually finish with 24-6 in 2011 and leave their stink as they rant about how great Urbie Meyer is as an HC. Like in LeBraon's case, you can bend them over, their mom over, their dog over, whatever...They still will come crawling back to them as "Ohio Native Sons."

A pathetic, cold place, but my job is here.

Or it they would have burned Frank Gore's medical red shirt year and put him in instead of Payton. He was dressed, pads and all. He left for the league with a year of eligibility left too.

That's the thing that always stuck in my head. If he was healthy he should have been dressed, and if he was dressed he should have played. He left with TWO years of eligibility left, they had to know he wasn't a four year, much less five year guy.

Wow, didn't know Gore was dressed for that game, I was always under the impression that He was still out for that game.
