2001 Week 1 at Penn State

Have a guy at work that is a big PSU fan. He remembers thinking before this game how big a chance they had to embarrass us on national TV. They even had a “White Out” for the fans and brought out a guy that was paralyzed and recovered as an emotional boost before the game. To this day he can’t believe the speed we played with.

Spoiler alert for the younger fans: this game was never in doubt.

Adam Talleferro (sp?).

I went to PSU & was at this game with all my PSU friends. We left at halftime bc they couldn’t take any more of the beat down. Felt great.

Yes, that was him…great memory!

If you also remember an analyst by the name of Beano Cook, he was putting us heavily on upset alert before this game. Looked so defeated on post game recaps! Lol.

Was at the game. Lots of fun. Driving home after the game took hours. Two lane roads with lots of traffic.

I remember after the game spilling out to the bar area and the lines were forever long. This one bar had a $5.00 cover and my buds and were like **** yeah. We walked into 99% Miami fans talking about how cheap everything was here compared to home.

PSU fan was passed out next to the port-a-crapper two hours before the game. Everyone was heading in, he woke up and dusted himself off and went in. Respect!

Saw Jerry Sandusky signing autographs for his book.

Parking was $5.00 right next to the stadium as well.

I was VERY angry with Coker after this game. He totally took his foot off the gas. I knew he didn't have enough of a killer instinct.

Oh...and many channels around the country quit showing this game after halftime. Heaven forbid Penn St get boatraced on national TV.
 
Was there as well. Had this ****head PSU fan right behind me talking **** before the game and then PSU took the opening kickoff for a long return and he was going nuts. Didn't take long for the Canes to go up 10-0 and he was quiet as a mouse. Score was 30-0 at halftime I believe and we could have and should have put up 50+ on Paterno but Coker called off the boys

Yup I was ticked off they switched to a different game.
 
Didn’t realize that Penn State OL was anchored at left tackle by. If Gus Felder. Yup, that Gus Felder.
