2.5 years for a bachelor’s degree

Congrats to Samson Okunlola and Emory Williams for being the first two 2.5 year graduates in program history. I don’t think a lot of fans realize the course load that a lot of athletes have. To finish a four year program in two and a half years is certainly an accomplishment.
It really is not an accomplishment. If kids take college level classes in High School, after one semester of college they can become a sophomore.

If they go to summer school their first year. They will be Juniors entering their second year.

If they go to summer school again, they will finish college in the spring semester..

Now if you graduate in 2.5 years with out the college level classes in high school and play football, you are a beast lol

Please don’t **** on the first kids in program history to accomplish this. I understand there’s a lot more college credit courses available in high school now than there used to be but in order to complete them in high school, you still have to be a pretty outstanding student.

Pfttt.

I earned a perfect score on the SAT at the age of six, completed high school in nine weeks, graduated from Princeton University at age 10, and finished medical school four years later. At age 14, I was the youngest licensed physician in the country.

Half of you porsters should be ashamed of yourselves. Instead of showing grace and congratulating our athletes accomplishments, you have to throw shade and or give examples of others "better" accomplishments. Bunch of miserable fuucks
Welcome to the internet in 2025. Where no matter how impressive someone’s feat is, someone else, who’s never achieved anything remotely close, will **** on it.

While 2 and 1/2 years is impressive and worthy of all the compliments possible, it is also important to note that D1 football student athletes in general are taking classes every summer session as well as the regular semesters. They also have their schedules planned meticulously in order to make this a possibility. I had to work in the summers, so summer courses were not an option for me. Again, I’m not trying to diminish their accomplishments - it’s impressive - but I did want to illuminate the reality.

Especially back then. HS kids are getting their AA in HS now.

That QB at Ole Miss graduated way early!
If you’re referring to Austin Simmons I’m pretty sure he “graduated early” because he was a “hold back”. May have even been a double hold back and graduated late

Man kids can get their AA in high school which is crazy lol.

Definitely didn’t have the option in my day. I just wanted to stick my meat into something lol and come in the house late because my parents were strict

It’s a lot different now. The admission standards are way higher than they used to be and the costs are astronomical compared to even 20 years ago. Kids almost HAVE to get as many college credits as they can in high school .

I know for a fact that UCF would never accept me now with the grades I had in high school. In 1997, it was good enough.
