I didn't hear or see any breakdown specifically with Rosier or Perry in terms of their stats for the first team vs the second team. I assume their numbers are just the total versus both lines

Anyone who looked at the Depth Chart knew we didn't have the "luxury" of RSing him.

If all of our DEs all stay healthy (always a big if), we'll be very strong at that spot. JJack, DJack, Garvin, Patchan, Rousseau -- that's some serious talent.

I don't know if I'm more excited about the potential of our DEs or afraid of the ****tiness of our Tackles.

But Perry was a Fr and a rs Fr that showed up late last year, and their numbers / accuracy are close. JW is a true fr.

A fifth year guy should be blowing everyone away. Numbers wise and accuracy , if you can’t do that after five years then it is what it is.

People I hold in high regard tell me “if you didn’t know who the guys were you wouldn’t have a clue who the starter was”. That’s mind blowing with mostly Fr out there with a 23 year old.

I get what you saying but I dont think you can look at it that way. I think you gotta go with who ever gives you the best chance to win regardless of the years of experience. Yes Rosier should be a lot better but if no one can beat him out even at practice without getting hit then theres no reason to hand anyone else the keys.

If the QBs were balling everybody would be crushing the defense. It's the nature of these scrimmages/spring games. Do I wish Malik and N'Kosi were more accurate today? Of course but I'm not prepared to write them off, especially Perry.

I've been high on Jarren since the AA game, seems to have that it factor and natural accuracy. Couple all that with a strong work ethic and I wouldn't be shocked if he ends up being the starter at some point this season but there's such a long way to go. We'll see.

I also remember a lot of people saying we couldn't recruit big time players on D. Looks like we have some in here this spring already. Seems Coach Simpson is already paying dividends as well.

It's all about perspective.

I have no clue whether Perry is all-ACC QB material or not. But here’s what I do know.

Fact: The actual head coach says he’s close behind the starter and pushing him some, a 10 game winner, who’s not a great QB nor very accurate, but did set a passing TD record.

I also know Perry had one lackluster performance in his very first ever spring scrimmage.

There’s a bunch more practices and scrimmages to go, so how about this.

How about you fūcking grow up and act like somebody with just a shred of common sense before completely writing him off, since the jury is still out on EVERYBODY.

Sounds like you’re the one that needs to do a lot of growing up.

For all we know Cade Weldon is the day 1 starter if his eyeball doesn’t fall out.

Always have to remember that in a spring game the Defense is not going to play to their weakness. If Harley and Thomas them for 3 TD’s deep you better believe that the safeties drop and the middle opens up. Also let’s be clear we have not heard the drops. And the TE’s not killing the middle matters also. Njoku made our QB’s more accurate when he was running free up the middle. Wait for Jordan to get here and be a freshman all American doing that.

After watching Richt's post practice interview here is my OBSERVATION. When talking about the QB's - in particular Rosier and Perry - he seemed to be just giving the facts and stats and relating how Rosier knows what to do, when to do it, etc. and Perry was making progress. When he mentioned JW, I could see his eyes light up a bit and a little grin on his face. These are just observations from reading his body language. In no way am I suggesting anything other than an observation. Take it for what it's worth.

I noticed the same thing. Richt has been in the QB room a loooong time. He knows what an elite QB looks like.

Richt knows at this point in time that Rosier is his best guy only because he has the experience under his belt and knows the system. His two RF QBs are decent but need a ton more grooming. JW is the most polished and the best QB coming out of high school we've had step onto Greentree in a long time. Richt can see his potential and it's very encouraging.

As has been said already, he'll ride Rosier as the starter until he completely ***** the bed praying that one of the other guys will be ready by then to step in. That's why he's not stressed right now. He's playing the long game hoping one of the others will be ready to replace Rosier later in the Fall when he gets yanked (and I'm guaranteeing that he will get yanked at some point).

But Jarren is the man. Only a matter of time before he owns the offense.

I don’t advocate panic or a rush to judgment on Perry and Rosier’s lack of accuracy. But it’s not like Diaz’s defense is known for stifling accuracy. Mediocre QBs put up some ridiculously accurate games against us last year.

If you’re not at least concerned about the ongoing inaccurate throwing of Rosier and Perry, then you’ve simply opted to stick your head in the sand.

Accurate QBs are accurate from day one for the most part. Inaccurate QBs typically stay that way. It’s almost like foot speed. You don’t typically get much faster, and you don’t typically get much more accurate.

Jaworski always says accuracy is the number 1 important trait in a QB. And I agree. You leave so many points on the field when you can’t hit receivers. Guys get obsessed with big arms, but if you can’t thriw accurately you’re useless.

Agreed. And trait #1a is vision. A good QB has the ability to quickly see and read the whole field. Like accuracy, vision is not something one typically picks up at 21 years old. Long before that you either have it or you don't.

Im not arguing cemantics with you because overall i fo agree with youre message on this topic. Long as its still we cant rush to judgement of people off the limited info we have. But what you stated about rosier is pretty far off in one aspect being hes the single season record holder for passing tds. No hes not. Hes actually tied for 6th in that regardconsidering until four or 5 years ago we didnt include bowl game stats in that regard. But even if youd like to than hed still only be tied for 4th with vinny in 86 & brad in 14. Our single season passing td holder is steve walsh in 88, dorsey in 02 & kayaa in 16. Thats 1,2 & 3... malik was our OVERALL single season td record holder with rushing tds included. 4th or 6th is still respectable in the bigger picture. The reality that a large number of those passing tds came off of bubble screens is a different story but then id be arguing cemantics.
