1988 Orange Bowl Hurricanes Fight Song

As recorded off of Y100:

Haha...I remember this song. Such a great time to be a Canes fan living in SFL.

Also, Y100 had another song they ran before the Fiesta Bowl vs PSU he previous year. Lyrics went something like this:

"So, Joe Paterno turn on your tube or your radio, and watch Miami steal this show...."

"Miami Hurricanes, number one...they're number one!"

Searched unsuccessfully for it a ton of times. If you can find that one for me I will award you 10,000 internet points.

Minor league compared to the weekly parody of the opponent's fight song, courtesy of the Trojan marching band and sung at on-campus rallies. Let's see if I can remember a couple of sections of lyrics:

When we hosted Oklahoma, to the tune of Boomer Sooner:

"Barry Swit-zer had his dong torn, by a ra-ging Te-xas Long-horn."

And my favorite, prior to a matchup with UCLA, in tune with the Bruin fight song:

"Ramsey is a "f**-*ing a**-hole. The song girls are a bunch of *****. When they spread their legs so wide they look like gar-bage trucks..."

The "let's go all the way" chorus is from the song by Sly Fox. That part works, but I'm not too fond of the Homer Simpson rap.

It actually predates the Simpsons by a year.

Just one of the radio stunts that Y100 did back then. They did something similar when the 49ers played the Bengals in the Super Bowl.

I’ll never forget going to my first Miami/FSU game in 1990 and hearing tens of thousands of people chanting the OTHER, Miami version of the FSU chant.

YAMA YAMA not many people remember the pint size guy on the sidelines from Ft Myers whom recently passed away.

GOCANES

Yama Yama was a permanent fixture on the sidelines in the Orange Bowl... people that don't remember him are too young.

Hahahaha! That almost sounds like Clarence Carter. I was waiting for him to be like "Canes be strokin!"
