UF is living off that SEC status. Its almost laughable

That and borrowed time. After Michigan embarrasses them by double digits, UF should be out of the Top 25 by week 2 for the remainder of the season (week 3 Tennessee, week 5 LSU, week 7 UGA).

As a side note, how exactly did UF manage to get 7 home games, 2 neutral site games (one of which is in Jacksonville), and only 3 away games?

They swapped home games with LSU last year due to Hurricane Matthew. UF could have easily played that game at a neutral site during the week it was scheduled, but they had a bunch of injuries then and the AD played the victim card shamelessly. Would say I lost a lot of respect for that athletic department during that whole situation, but I never had any to begin with.

Ah, that makes sense -- Gheyturds playing the victim over some rain and 45 mph wind gusts. Still seems like they are up one home game for the season, though (6 to 4, if you count LSU as an "owed" away game), but I'm not a scheduling maven.

From an outsider's perspective I can see how this is fair. We all know how talented this team is but now it's time to show it.

We beat FSU in week 3 and we'll catapult into the top 5. Put up or shut up time.

Not if FSU gets curb stomped by Alabama next week. Not sure if the pollsters will give much credence to a win over a 1-2 FSU team.

Yes but I don't think FSU will get curb stomped. I could easily see FSU beating this years Bama team, which I feel is far from dominant.

I hate FSU more than anyone, but they have a QB. That alone makes them a tough out.

Agreed. just playing Devil's advocate. FSU is really our only marquee opponent on the schedule (unless ND significantly improves), so it helps if they don't embarrass themselves too bad in Atlanta.

If we beat FSU and run the table we'll 100% be in the playoffs. So there's little reason to pull for FSU over Bama unless you care a great deal about the stakes of the game on that particular night.

Makes you wonder what they'll do when they have to face a real hurricane in 2019.

Pay to cancel the game? There is precedent for this, they have paid us at least four times to cancel games.

Zero doubt in mind FSU won't get curb stomped. I'd love to see it happen (rankings be damned)....but I think you can easily make the argument FSU is actually the better team in that matchup this year.

I don't know that FSU has the horses on offense to compete. Their defense will be top notch though.

If FSU can find a playmaker at WR I think they can win that game. Gonna be tough without Cook though.

Likewise I don't think that Bama offense will be confused with any offensive juggernauts anytime soon.

I honestly think that's a 2-3 loss Bama team. I think there's a better chance Bama gets curb stomped than FSU. At the very worst FSU will lose close in that one but I think there's a good chance they win it outright.

Doesn't every team have to show it? As of right now, NO TEAM has proven a thing on the field during the 2017 season. God I hate preseason polls.

10-12 teams in that poll will not even be ranked by season's end.

Beat Florida State at the Doak. That's how you silence your haters.

That's how your get into the top 10 and stay there.

Don't talk playoffs until you beat the Noles.
