Correct. But money talks.Meh. More football and a lot more blowouts. Watering down a product for money and volume.

We’ll see opt outs for teams 8-12.This is quite dumb considering the semi games are already mostly blowouts. There might be some decent 1st round games but all this does is create more possibility for an injury to effect the champ
Yup. Can’t ******* practice because of safety concerns but as soon as ESPN can profit off of it and the SEC cult has an extra few weeks to jerk themselves off more games is no detriment to the kids. Will there still be conference championships?
if so, that’s a lot of football for 19-20 year old kids whose bodies aren’t yet developed…
I'm not opposed to it. I've always wanted an expanded playoff with guaranteed berths. Just thought 8 was the perfect format but I'll take 12 because (like you said) it'll give us more chances and eliminates the possibility of us getting screwed if we ever actually do win the conference. They should just never go beyond 12. We already know what conference will always get the byes in this format too.Who cares. 12 games gives us a hail Mary chance of making it in 24
Agree. Of course, as we know, 12 is just to get more SEC and B1G teams in. The networks are not really interested in more TCUs getting in.It should've been an 8 team format (5 conf champs + 3 at-larges) with NO byes but the argument that the regular season won't matter any longer simply doesn't hold weight. It'll actually matter now more than ever especially with the SEC bias followed by (to a much lesser degree) B1G preference by polling and the committee.
The essentially auto-bids to the conference champions will make getting to and winning those games more important than ever and the desire to overcome any potential biases will make compiling the most impressive regular season record as important for those seeking an at-large spot.
one upset and you are wrong... I bet 1 a year at least.Meh. More football and a lot more blowouts. Watering down a product for money and volume.
Doubt it. They aren’t this year and haven’t historically so why would they when there is more on the line? We’ll see opt outs for teams 8-12.
That's original!Miami wouldn't sniff a college football playoff if there were 100 teams.

This playoff scenario would have been, most likely, 3 SEC teams in the semis. Like it or not- the SEC overload scenario is going to be commonplace. What it would look like this year. I think it will be awesome in 2024!

yep 8 is the correct number.Boo! 8 teams ONLY!!!
2 teams with 3 losses.
Allegedly bowl payouts being considered direct athletes vs 100% to schools...We’ll see opt outs for teams 8-12.
