12 and Climbing ....

I thinks it's more frustration than angst. Frustrated with conservative Mario. Frustrated that there's never someone at ESPN that doesn't have an ax to grind against Miami. Does anyone with a microphone that has a legit platform speak up for Miami? I'm talking about someone in the ESPN studio that actually can push back on the Galloways of the world.
To be fair, and only in recent times, E.J. Manuel has pushed against Galloway’s constipated views on us. There is a sprinkling of others who have spoken in favor of us as well, but we know the overall agenda, so take it for what it’s worth. Frustration and angst go hand in hand in our situation if you take the pulse of the comments here in general. Mario is frustrating, but not getting over the “hump” and constant disrespect in the media, with the BS eye test cop out is causing a lot of anxiety and gloom. I’m no mental health expert, but I know what I sense.

If we win, and ONE SEC team in front of us loses (OU -10.5, Bama -6.5 , Ole Miss -7.5) we'll get in.

We'll jump to 11 over BYU this weekend with another ranked win over Pitt.

But we need help to get up to 10.

Yes need help and a convincing win. I don’t see any of those SEC teams losing this weekend unfortunately. Spreads are low cause of rivalry aspect but there are clearly better teams in each matchup that will win.

One thing for sure, this game will say a lot about who and what Carson Beck is.

He has looked really good lately, seems like he is now comfortable and confident in this offense. He is the product of his OLine and OC and both have been clicking for him.

Let’s see if he can rise up if and when things get tough on the road versus and strong Pitt defense. Will he crack or steer the ship. No three and outs and the defense will respond. It’s important not to rely heavily on the defense this week.

Complimentary football and it’s on Beck.

I think we need to jump BYU before the conference championship games (assuming they win next week, and we do not make the ACCCG). I think it is possible if we beat Pitt (especially if we look good doing it). And of course we need at least one of the two loss teams in front of us to drop a game (assuming the committee has made up its mind on ND being ranked ahead of us).

I am not confident the committee would drop BYU below an idle Miami for losing its conference championship game.

We were agreeing here in real-time. That was clear as day. We've cleared the Utah hurdle, as expected. Need to clear AT LEAST one more, and then hope BYU gets dinged in Dallas.

Oh, and hope Vandy doesn't crush Tennessee or Meechigan doesn't upset Taint.

Real cool spot to be in.

Just beat Pitt by 3 scores.
This Pit game is the spot we always crap the bed in. It would be another demon we need to exercise to keep changing the narratives around the program.

You guys should get in. You are one of the top 12 teams. Personally, I would put you at 7. I think ND and Miami should both be in. Ole Miss, Oklahoma, and Alabama are overrated. I am not sold on Indiana or Texas Tech either. I would take ND and Miami over all those teams.

Appreciated.

I don't have to like ND to respect ND's resume. We played each other, and we both played a pre-season ranked SEC team. Your SEC opponent proved to be the real deal, but you can't fault either of us for our scheduling.

A polite and logical Notre Dame fan? Is this a prank?

Mind if I pollute your board with some thoughts?

Let's look at Oklahoma. OK has the 72nd ranked Offense. Defensively, they are a bit overrated IMO. They have played four teams with top 50 offenses. #4 TN scored 27, #14 Ole Miss scored 34, #25 Alabama scored 21 with 3 turnovers and no running game. The fourth, Missouri #39, was impressive as they held them to 6, even though they dropped a TD that would have been 13. Best performance nonetheless. Every other O they played has been bad.

Ole Miss...

Why are they getting a free pass? Have you seen their schedule?
1. Georgia St.
2. Beat Kentucky by 7 giving up 23
3. Beat Arkansas by 6, giving up 35.
4. Beat Tulane
5. Beat LSU by 5
6. Beat Washington St. by 3
7. Lost to Georgia, giving up 43
8. Beat overrated OK, giving up 26
9. Beat South Carolina
10. Beat The Citadel
11. Beat FL by 10 with a late score.

Yuck! Why are they getting a free pass?

BYU's schedule is just as ugly. Miami and ND would destroy these teams. As ND fans, me and my friends are beating the drum for ND and Miami to both be in.

Ole Miss also benefited from one of the most laughably biased calls in recent memory. Sec refs picking up the PI flag and pretending the ole **** defender didn’t arrive 3 seconds early when UF was driving to beat them was

I’m forever an optimist but also a realist. Last year’s loss at Syracuse was crushing, especially after being up 21-0 really not sure what happened nor do I care to relive it. Year after year it’s pain for us. 2017 lives fresh.

My only hope is that
1) Pitt played their best against GT and can’t repeat that performance
2) The team learns from last year’s loss
3) Carson Beck experience

That’s pretty much it
