11-1...10-2 Crowd....

After tonight, I've come to terms that Miami may never make it back to the upper echelon of CFB. I was 9 when the 01' team won it all, and I've just been gritting my teeth, hoping to see Miami field a team like that again as I inch closer to turning 30 in a few months. A lot of that hope died tonight. I hope this loss will be a heavy dose of humility for the coaches and players, but I don't think that will be the case.

Ok so that I’m not a total *** to you, I will say that I always thought 10-2 was a possibility. But a possibility in the same way Vegas gave us a possibility of winning it all this year. I think it was like .06%.

10-2 meant absolutely no injuries. Everybody played better than last year, and almost every bounce would go our way.

There’s just waaaaaaaaaaay too many things that had to exceed expectations to achieve that lofty goal. Factor in Miami is known for playing down to its competition and dropping a game it should (Cristobal the same as well) and I just simply thought it was ridiculous.

Oh and too many people always think we’re absolutely going to win the Coastal (which is still possible) and be 10-2 every season regardless of coach or players on the roster during the off-season.
They think that with good reason, because Miami has more overall talent year in and year out than any team in the Coastal. The reason I picked 9-3 falls back on most things you outlined about our past. I understand like everyone else the last 20 some odd years of failure and the fact that you can’t undo all of it in an off-season.

It still doesn’t change the point that 10-2 with this schedule isn’t a lofty goal, especially seeing that Texas A&M and Clemson aren’t really that formidable this year. I seriously doubt anyone saw this loss coming and what will really be telling is the response.

This team was 7-5 last year and we lost the whole offense when Rambo and Harley aged out. Just shows the ignorance of the fanbase to think a new coach would turn dirt into a diamond in 9 months without much upgrading on the offense
Turn dirt into diamonds????

LOL

We’re talking about Middle Tennessee State here!!! How many diamonds do you need to not get rolled by Middle Tennessee State at home?!?!?!

I said 9-3 if we play like we did against A&M (especially defensively).

And if we play like we did today, we win 5 games.

But side note, Butch isn’t getting hired here.

Still waiting....show me where I was a Mario flag waver??...Was I okay with it??...not as my 1st choice....but I knew he'd need the correct coordinators, and a willingness to change his philosophy, and he hasn't.

When he hired Gattis, I was like uh oh. But I don't blame Gattis cause I know this is the offense Mario wants to run

That’s exactly what I’m saying 20 years of this and the fact that it won’t go away in a few months is exactly why 10-2 is nearly impossible and the reason why it’s a lofty goal.

Had this same roster played to their recruiting rating and gone 9-3 last year then I would say a one game improvement is very doable.

The way we played against A&M is exactly what a 3-9- or 4-8 team look like. You guys gotta stop thinking Texas A&M is any good. They're terrible and we couldn't do anything against them. We tried to warn you guys last week of what to come but you guys just assumed we were better then the whole coastal

Call this guy, we gotta get 10 more years out of Butch DAW GAWD...

They’re not terrible. They’re not elite, but they’re hanging with Arkansas right now who many on this board thought would boat race them. They’ll win 8 games probably.

I didn’t think A&M was good, but the rest of the ACC ain’t good either. Doesn’t matter now, if we play like we did today we’re f^cked.

I said 10-2. Its simple. Mario got paid a lot and received even more resources. He had plenty to dominate our side of the ACC and our non conference cupcakes. He failed. That’s it. No need to argue or sugar coat it. The man failed year 1. His move now. What’s he gonna do to turn it around?

Well said

Revisionist history. While those teams were losing, people were killing Butch the way people are killing Mario today.
Butch had legitimate excuses....
Is Mario down 11 schollies this yr??...No
Is Mario down 8 schollies next yr??...No
Is Mario prohibited from a Bwl game this yr...??...No
Is Mario's UM FB team prohibited from being on TV??...No
Did Butch have a 8 million dollar contract, and another 6 million dollar staff??...No
Did Butch have an administration that backed him 100% with a Billionaire Booster??...No......Please stop the nonsense.
Since Butchs kids left after the 2004 season, this program "Coincidentally" has gone to sh*t....
