Texas No. 1 in preseason AP Top 25 for first time
For the first time, Texas will open a college football season ranked No. 1 in The Associated Press Top 25.
I still don’t understand how anyone is giving FSU any votes.![]()

We have the pieces on paper to do so, now we all know what we produce in real life and what we expect on paper often...clashCould Miami finally stay in the top 10-15 for the entire season and not have this blow up in their faces like we all have seen before?

If we’re still in the top 10 going into week 2 that will be awesomeCould Miami finally stay in the top 10-15 for the entire season and not have this blow up in their faces like we all have seen before?
Watch Miami win by 20 plus and they somehow drop in the polls. If we’re still in the top 10 going into week 2 that will be awesome
Same as last year when they lost a bunch of talent, and now they have a small QB that lost his job at BC. Yeah, they're going undefeated LolI still don’t understand how anyone is giving FSU any votes.

Totally expect thisWatch Miami win by 20 plus and they somehow drop in the polls.
This is a problem I would love to have.Totally expect this

Wilner is consistently the dumbest AP voter out there. Genuinely should not get to vote.First, let's dispense of the idea that it could be voteS plural.
It's all about points. Therefore, to get 8 points, all you need is ONE VOTER to rank F$U at #18, and then you miraculously have 8 points.
We all know that Prison Mike could easily have voted F$U at #18 on his ballot, in order to generate some heat for his flat-lining team.
Therefore, all you need is ONE sportswriter to do the same.
CORRECTION: Pete Yanity (Ohio U, works in Greenville, SC, does play-by-play for Clemson, put Miami at #11) voted F$U at #19, and Jon Wilner (appears to be a west coast guy, writes for the San Jose newspaper, put Miami at #13) voted F$U at #25.
For Yanity, 12 of his 25 picks were considered "extreme", meaning 5+ spots away from the actual ranking. For Wilner, it was 13 of his 25 picks that were "extreme".
