#1 Miami vs #20 FSU 1986

Big shoulder pads, our D flying all over the place, Coach Jimmy with that constant ****ed off look, and Ara P up in the booth suffering through another dominant Hurricane performance ...yeah, those were the days.

People forget that we played everybody and anyone: South Carolina, Florida, Oklahoma, West Virginia, FSU .......wow

Never understood why our WRs played in 3pt stances.

They did under Jimmy for whatever reason. Didn't see to matter.

In hindsight, that offense was archaic for the personnel that UM had at that time.
If Erickson was JJ's OC, JJ plays in more than 2 NCs...and we drub PSU in the 86 Fiesta Bowl.

All True. But as it were, Jimmy's O, was a pro style passing attack that was ahead of its time. College defensive coaches at the time, we're basically not prepared for it. QB audibles, WR option routes, using RB's in the passing game, etc.
A lot of teams of the early to mid 80's, had their WR in 3pt. stances (if u go back a lil farther, u would see NFL WR's in 3 pt. stances) My thought is that as a WR, the guy could get outta their stances and get down the field faster.

Thanks for posting, sad that **** never post in this thread is something negative about our current team instead of just enjoying greatness.
