#1 Class on Rivals

I trust Richt and his staff to evaluate players better than Rivals and the other scouting agencies. J Jackson and Garvin for example ... but it is nice to get the recognition.

With our current score of 2538, we would have ended up #9 last year, #6 in 2016 and tied at #8 in 2015, virtually identical to where LSU fell out each of those years. Not a bad spot to be with 6 months remaining, and 10+ kids to still add to the class.

everyone knew Garvin was a beast but some sites miss these guys.........If Clemson was hard on him thats a good sign to me

garvin slipped through the cracks because he skipped the camp circuits. Unlikely that the "experts" ever did more than watch his highlight tape one time before ranking him a 3* and then never looking again.

He got the offer he wanted andtook it, a good sign he isnt an attention *****

How the **** is Hightower in the 200's and Jobe dropped out the top 250?? Yeah those are jokes

I think Jobe is not ranked because he is at a prep school now. I could be wrong.

"Top 2 Class!", "Top 3 Class!", Number 1 Class!". Listen, a top 5 class filled with top south florida talent (with some out of state flavor - you can just go to IMG for that) = #1 Class. Same Logic applies to Texas and Southern Cal.

And yet somehow Bama and OSU win championships with core talent that is from outside south florida. Last year bama had 7 5 stars and OSU had like 5. At the end of the day you need the top end talent as evaluated by people who see the players. You can debate that all you want but go back the last 10 years, look at our classes and see how many of the bottom of the lists (the 3 stars and some 2s), actually had an impact. You'll find maybe 1-2 a class, the outliers. The rest is the top of the class, for the most part.

247 dropped us to 4 just behind Ped State. If we get all of this local talent I won't even care.

I think Jobe is not ranked because he is at a prep school now. I could be wrong.

Only logical explanation.

Yep.

Rivals said Jobe is just being moved to prep school rankings.

His composite 247 ranking is messed up right now because their algorithm doesn't know how to handle that switch

That makes sense... I'm willing to bet that he ends up a 5 star in the final rankings (prep school)... any takers?

will be surpassed by penn state and OSU eventually, but may hang on to a top5 depending on how bama clemson and FSU closes

Not Penn State, they are already at 23 and we are only at 19. The suckeyes though, have a monster class.

How many are we taking?

I haven't done the math because the numbers always work out, but I would say around 25 this year. So say we take 6 more without losing anyone. I still think we may see a decommit or two because it always happens every year. That would mean 8 more.

My thoughts on positions not players.

OL-2

Complete oversight by me. 1LB. I wouldn't mind seeing them take 2 LB if we somehow have room. We probably only take 1 more OL.
