‘Don’t do anything stupid.’

We have to get more creative in the run game. Beck needs to get 40 rushing yards a game to keep defense honest. Imo

The tight splits inside zone handoffs in to the A and B gap are being schemed out by Defenses. The 2nd half of ND gm UF game FSU and Ville shut it completely off. We had no counters. No speed in our back field no outside zone no formations alignments or splits to loosen the box. Dawson has been over rated to me far before this season. Our offense was only explosive and functional because of Cam last yr. Vanilla basic scheme in both the run and pass gm. Easy to prepare for especially when your qb can't create and make plays above the x's and o's.

Good luck with next year's OC. I warned you in advance.

It’s pretty obvious that the personal matchups didn’t mesh with the play calling/decisions. As an example the first interception would have been a completed pass if it was to Daniels or even Jojo. Why throw a contested ball to a 5’10” guy. Also do we have an intermediate game. Beck was actually incredibly accurate to start the game. But it was all bubble screens or deep shots.

Also it’s pretty obvious the line can’t run block. Two games in a row v
#3 Moore as well on those long passes.

Don’t bother with the nonsense. We’re predictable in part BECAUSE we choose a conservative approach (a conscious, fully explained approach about staying on schedule at the expense of ‘riskier’ plays that’d get us off schedule).

Dawson was specifically asked by a reporter about switching to a more conservative approach. His response was that he leans on ‘grind it out’ and ‘don’t make stupid mistakes.’ This aligns with what we see and it isn’t all about run vs pass. There is nothing out of context. We played behind the 8 ball most of the night. No need for weak semantics about predictability vs predictability from a conservative plan of attack.

What you get is what anyone who’s sniffed a football field or at least has two eyes can see: we need to increase our risk tolerance if we’re to avoid reacting to solid opposing coaches.

At some point you have to use space and get guys room to work instead of just hammering into 8-9 man fronts. We are missing a true vertical threat that can keep safeties back and it’s hurting the entire operation. Toney and Daniel’s have been great but we need the guy that can give them more space to operate underneath.

And as you pointed out calling the game from the garage of not doing anything g stupid puts us at a disadvantage from the jump.

At Houston it was alot of IZ too, im sure more gap scheme stuff because he has sprinkled it in here. Idk what mirabal has against that
Or not even having a counter to that.

I hope they get ripped to shreds by the media. I mean... nuclear. Force a change. Cause they're handicapping the so-called team they love.
