‘Don’t do anything stupid.’

Last season we teams scared to death of Cam Ward lighting them up over the top. We still struggled running the ball especially on first down because we made so obvious. But we less boxes. This year we got Toney and that is it because Jojo is jail. CJ Daniel’s is a number 3 WR. Idk what Marion does

when you see by the week Beck looks alot like a certain connecticut qb.....then you would have to think sometime the passing/route concepts and run game get a lil to basic....yall wonder why around october it crumbles...well the tape and tendencies are now fully out.

Idk man, I saw badly thrown passes that got picked off, and a telegraphed check down that got thrown before he even let the play develop to end the game.

You have 7 offensive guys and like 6+ defenders all crammed into a 6 yard box and run up the middle, uh do people expect our oline to just blow the opposing dline and lbs 6 yards off the ball every single snap? our run scheme quite literally is 'lets create a 10 person dogpile that moves slowly, not give our rb any forward momentum by the time he reaches the LOS, and leaves zero possibility of our RB not contacting someone (either our own olineman or a defender) within a yard or two from the LOS'... Like I don't think I'm even being sarcastic at all.
Mario and mirabal philosophy is kick down the door even when its unlocked lol. I think every team needs that mindset at some point but having it as your base run plan in 2025 is just insane

Dawson is my GUY. Not throwing the cape on him for this season. He’s been below his own standard. But as far as the run game goes I can can tell you without a doubt this isn’t his preference.
At Houston it was alot of IZ too, im sure more gap scheme stuff because he has sprinkled it in here. Idk what mirabal has against that

Two games in a row where the run game was awful . I don’t want to hear anything more about this being the best OL unit in cfb
But is is the best OL. They’ve been destroying good defensive lines all year, pushing piles 10 yards downfield.

But play calling will hinder an OL just like it will neuter skill players. Running into stacked boxes is a numbers game. I don’t blame the OL when they are outleveraged but the play still gets called up the middle.

Jamming Lyle up the middle when half this board saw last week that isn’t his game, and said to get him in space. Bauman seeing however many snaps a game when he should be at Tulane. Our explosive WR recruits on the bench.

Mario is a caveman. It’s just who he is.

The stats say different. It’s a good OL but nothing like the hype.

Not in the run game, no we haven't. Before these horrid performances against FSU/Ville our RBs only averaged 4.1 YPC against ND, USF, UF. Run blocking has been abysmal all year.

But don't get it twisted, a lot of that is due to moron A and B in Mario and Mirabal with their atrocious run scheme.

anytime you watch louisville he sticks out like a sore thumb he is 6'2 210-215 and a certified 4.4. This is his third straight 10 catch 100 yard game ina row and all against acc opponents...and other than shallow crosses they arent scheming him open. He is Dk Metcalf....how or why early on we seem to not realize i have no clue...
Never even adjusted during the game, played man on him most of the game.

Bro we could do literally anything other than just run condensed formations with tight splits and spam runs up the gut, and I'm confident it'd lead to better offensive output.

But absoultely we need to be more aggressive. I don't even hate how our overall pass game has been this year. I wasn't expecting a whole lot different than what we've seen. To me it all starts and ends with the run game. Like I said from pre-season this run scheme allows zero big explosive runs. With Beck and this passing attack you actually have to be a complete idiot to think we were going to be as explosive in the passing game as we were last year with Ward. To not have known going into this season that we needed a more advanced run game and to generate explosive run plays is coaching malpractice, straight up. And even worse we actually are being even MORE conservative in our running plan this season over even last year! I am honestly baffled at our Run game. This **** has been our biggest offensive issue for 2 years now, and I knew it was going to be critical this offseason to get explosive runs, yet we've gone the complete Opposite direction we should have. We should have an extremely aggressive running scheme to pair with Beck who can just dink and dunk and then take some shot plays a handful of times per game.
I agree with you, but we saw some explosives from Martinez in the same scheme last year.

Fletcher is a glorified goal line back. He has no wiggle and no juice. And, maybe more importantly, no vision.

They tried to get Lyle in presumably for this reason, but they jam him up the middle when that isn’t his game. I was waiting all night for a HB toss out of those tight, extra lineman formations. Like you see every other team do near the goal line when defenses sell out to stop the run up the gut. Never came.

I would love his behind the scenes views on how you’re supposed to pound a predictable run scheme without a QB who can get you out of a hole in the air, extending plays, or on the ground, ala Cam or someone else with dynamic feet.

It’s a weird match. Take a look at all the ‘stick to the spot’ QBs in the NFL. Goff, Mac Jones, et al. Incredibly varied run games that can keep defenses off balance and provide lots of PA opportunities.

Like I mentioned, weird Jenga game we’ve created. Hopefully, Malachi Toney can save the day like a super hero.
our entire offense is toney. at this point, whatever trader did is forgiven. get him out there if hes healthy. we need an infusion of talent especially since only one guy can get any separation and Becks arm looks zapped of strength.

I really don't know what was up with him. He wasn't under *that* much pressure, all considered....he had enough time to throw.
Same question I asked last year while watching him make inexplicable plays off platform for Georgia. It’s who he has shown to be. We should accept it until he shows us something else.

Jojo did something?? Thought he was just injured
