Canes S Carter possesses superhuman strength

Miami junior S Jamal Carter lifts a combined 1,233 pounds between the bench press, squat and power clean.

Seeing as though he only weighs 209 pounds, the strength is noteworthy. Carter began his career as a special teamer and then had 21 tackles and five pass breakups as a backup last year. He should see the field far more often this fall.

breakout season. im gonna feel bad for anyone running the ball his way.

kid has all the physical tools but he needs to get everything right upstairs. to many times last year i saw him with a chance to make a play/tackle and he'd take the wrong angle.

Players first, then plays. Right? Make the system lesss complex and this team will improve overnight.

Coach Golden has done an incredible job keeping slimy agents and the NFL disinterested in Jamal despite his superhuman strength and plus athleticism.

Too bad Golden/Williams had such a hard-on for Fentress.

Carter got tons of playing time, but spent much of it taking bad angles or trying to make the big hit..and missing, instead of just making the play. He's got the potential, he just has to get his head in the game.

Like clockwork.

I know you hate facts, but they are what they are. I'm far from the only one to point out Carter's lack of game smarts. In fact, many of your fellow Golden/Shalala/UM haters on this very site are saying the same exact thing.

Yall can hate on the defense and rightfully so, but this dude took horrible a$$ angles and misplayed a ton of passes, when he got them right he was a monster, this is his first time to be on the field full time so lets see if last years burn gets him acclimated to college ball

More like Golden and D'O needs to put together a defense that plays to our players strength.

It would have been nice to get him some more burn last year, but when you are in a title hunt you can't take any chances.

Hey, kid might be superhuman and hope he breaks out. But can't blame everything on the scheme - kid takes bad angles and misses way too many open field tackles. That's on him, not coaches or scheme.

Oh what could have been if Golden would have gone after this guy and made staff changes! With just two hires Miami would be a preseason Top 10 right now! This guy took Wisconsin farm kids and state of florida 5th tier kids an beat Auburn while out smarting Gus Malzhan.
