    USC and UCLA to B1G

That does seem a bit extreme (given the history of SEC footprint expansion over the past 40 years), but it would be a way to steal some of the prime Big 10 expansion candidates, essentially boxing the Big 10 in. We shall see.

Funny thing is, the Big 10 can just sit back and wait for ND to join...whenever... The Big 10 could add ND in 2030 and you'd still have teams willing to jump from any non-SEC conference to join. ****, WVU would gnaw off their own ********s for a chance to join ND anywhere. Oregon and...

Correct. Big 10 is not sitting around saying "hey, how can we destroy the meaning of our conference name by expanding to 20 or 24 schools for monetary purposes, BUT OH, LET'S LIMIT OURSELVES TO THE NEXT 4-8 BEST ACADEMIC SCHOOLS. Yeah, that's not happening. Big 10 wants to get paid and...

100% true. Echevarria is a monster. Fernandez is a killer. Plus Dan on the AD side, UM MBA, worked for San Jankovich, ran Clemson during one of its most successful periods. Recipe for SUCCESS.

While not untrue, Miami is not doing this by its lonesome.

Dopey guy is acting like the SELECTION process of "schools to invite" will play out over YEARS. Ridiculous. The whole decision process will play out over months.

I listened to the beginning of that nonsense, and the main takeaway is that they KEPT emphasizing academics, over and over and over again. Which is NOT going to be the primary driver here. The Big 10, which has PREVIOUSLY used AAU membership as a benchmark, is desperate to take Notre Dame...

So his guest is an attorney in Miami? I guess if you are a double St. Thomas grad (undergrad and law), the service academies must seem like football behemoths...

Did he actually say that? Because EVERY SINGLE ITEMIZED POINT is wrong. Just completely wrong.

I can understand Mizzou or Vandy, but South Carolina is a former Independent like us, we played them a few times in the good old days. I think we'd all like to see the marquee games that we haven't been able to get due to everyone being pusillanimous about scheduling OOC games. We haven't...

Yessir. I would put UM and UNC (and POSSSSSIBLY UVa) into the "top possibilities desired by both Big 10 and SEC" group. Maybe even Clemson, surprisingly (on the academic side, when it comes to Big 10 consideration). Georgia Tech really doesn't change the equation in GA, the two schools are...

I see no factual errors here. Miami may not be #1 on either conference's list, but we are in the Top 2 to 4 with BOTH conferences, which gives us some comfort and some choices.

I think UNC carries weight because of a few things. First, NC as a state is booming, and there is nothing in Charlotte that aces out the upstate schools. My youngest brother lives in Charlotte now, UNC is very well-liked there. Second, UNC is a fairly solid national brand due to Jordan and...
