Transfer portal watch thread!! (Versions 1.0 - 4.0 merged)

Transfer doesn't matter. It's when you first offer financial aid, sign LOI, and provide financial aid. For Walker, that happened in the 2020 cycle. For Williams, we got to push him into 2021 because he waited to sign the LOI until one day after fall camp opened.

No they are not, unless they are counting walk-ons. Lots and lots of walk-ons.

Walker is, and always has been, a part of the 2020 class. The blueshirt was Williams.

I keep saying it, but I think it is going to be nearly impossible for F$U to get back to 85 scholarships for several years. Unless the NCAA gives them 50 ICs this year. Even then, they'll have to take so many transfers that they are going to need 35 ICs annually just to keep up. The math is...

But but but, the NCAA reeeeeally cares about these kids getting degrees...

Fall. One day after fall camp begins, if you sign an unrecruited kid to an LOI, he can count towards the next cycle. Summer 2 (2021) is the END of the 2021 recruiting cycle. "After" Fall 2021 "begins" is the beginning of the 2022 recruiting cycle (from an IC standpoint). You can blueshirt...

Only if we do it EXACTLY like we did with Jarrid Williams (blueshirt). No "recruitment" (easy enough with the Covid pandemic) AND the transfer candidate applies to UM, gets accepted, AND DOES NOT SIGN AN LOI UNTIL MID-AUGUST (first day after fall camp begins).

Action is hoped for within three weeks. Nobody has any real idea on the number of spots, though 5 seems to be the response most frequently given in our survey of 100 people.

Yes. And the recent report that made me really angry was the one reporter saying that both the transfer rule and the NIL rule were being delayed "because they were interrelated" or something like that. In no way, shape, or form do those two proposed rule changes share any of the same issues...

Whenever THE FVCK they want to, dammit. (That is not a slap against you, it's just an illustration of how arrogant the NCAA is) One would think it has to happen before February 3, but who really knows?

Yeah, I figured if we are stuck on 24, it would be 21 HS and 3 Portal. Got-dammed NCAA.

As long as the extra ICs are coming. I hate the NCAA. This delay is allowing dumpster fires like F$U and Michigan State to load up on Portal guys before Miami (and others) can shoot its shot.

Hilarious. This is what you do. You project the things that you do onto other people. You claim that I started to "bash (you)" and "call (you) names". Go back and review the posts. Multiple people tried to correct your misunderstanding of the rules, very simply and politely. You were the...
