Like Scott Brown, Muscara worked for Ed Blankmeyer at St John's....starting to notice Blankmeyer not only won his share of games at St John's, but had some rising young coaches at SJ including other coaches as well. I also like that Muscara coached under Vaughn at Maryland. Nice resume so far.

That scenario with Manieri as the HC with Cora as the "coach-in-waiting" makes absolutely zero sense. First, Mainieri and Cora have zero ties to each other and second, what assistant coaches would want to work for a coach in that situation. I smell B.S....reminds me of that rumor about hiring...

How about hiring him as the HC right now? If he's that good, hire him for HC. Besides this sounds like a coach with expectations to be a HC on his next stop.

This was what I read in the local papers at the time. Of course, this was before Baseball America and other electronic and print media dedicated to covering college baseball recruiting existed.
