This was an MMA shot to jaw smackdown. Well done sir.

Dude, come on. All he had to do was put his head down, rack up 50 catches for 700 yards and a half dozen touchdowns next season and 11 months from now he’d have left here for NFL millions. He did something incredibly immature and paid for it.
  3. Go Canes!!

Jeff Thomas sticking with Illinois. NOT!

There is no denying his track record has been troubling everywhere he’s been. Sometimes you just can’t get kids to do the logical or smart thing.

Maybe Jeff Thomas is just a head case.

Agree 100%. For the record, I have zero issues with Jeff as a person or his return. Just think deflecting blame elsewhere would be a huge mistake that will only make it worse for him going forward.

Big difference between Taylor and Irvin partying too hard and bailing on their team. Those two guys led by example every day at practice and in games.

Jeff Thomas sticking with Illinois. NOT!

The point is wanting him back and him deserving it are two separate things.
  12. Go Canes!!

Jeff Thomas sticking with Illinois. NOT!

Lmao. I’ve never said he shouldn’t be back on the team. I’m saying stop making excuses for him. Everyone else sucked it up, he acted like a petulant child. Kind of the way you just did when facing a position that’s different than yours.
  13. Go Canes!!

Jeff Thomas sticking with Illinois. NOT!

Not saying he shouldn’t be allowed back. I’m just saying people should stop making excuses for him. Every other offensive player was subjected to the same exact play calling, yet everyone else stuck it out. He didn’t even finish the season. The reason he’s not on this team is 100% his fault...

It’s actually very much like the military.

The dude quit on his team, period.
  17. Go Canes!!

Yeah? How’s that turn out for Urban over the long haul. 8-5 his last season, burned out, having panic attacks and quitting. You’ll never win long term without a culture of accountability.

. All of those guys had players with issues but they’d never, in a million years, tolerate guys who didn’t bust their asses in practice or bailed on their team. There’s a huge difference between Michael Irvin partying too hard and Jeff Thomas packing his **** and going home.
  19. Go Canes!!

Jeff Thomas sticking with Illinois. NOT!

You ain't winning anything over the long term if you send your team the message that you can do whatever the **** you want as long as you produce on Saturdays.
