I keep hearing Ivey as an example of seniority. Who did he start over? Manny benched Ivey for Couch, and then benched Blades.

Here is the SI scouting report on Rousseau, since people still don't want to believe why Rousseau didn't start the first few games: He did miss two games during his true freshman season due to an ankle injury and was hampered by a lower back injury during training camp in 2019...

Horn is faster and better, no doubt. Just repeating what I heard from two different people. TRob was honest about other players so it caught my attention. Coaches love size and Ivey looks the part.

The bolded part is the key in terms of the OL. As for the young WRs, they had a COVID outbreak the same week Likens blew up the depth chart. Pope and Wiggins started playing better and had the jobs secure when the young guys finally came back. Of course, they cratered and now it's wide open again.

He has shut down games, too. His problem is that the bad moments are so frustrating. I also think it's a confidence issue. Ivey had ball skills in HS but they haven't translated. One of the reason the coaches (including TRob) like Ivey so much is that he is a giant corner. There are tools...

I agree, but it will because TRob loves him. He has told multiple people that Ivey reminds him of Jaycee Horn, minus the confidence. TIFWIW, but TRob is a straight shooter and not afraid to criticize a player.

I'll focus on the defense because that's where he's been most involved: Rousseau played over Patchan, which caused Patchan to transfer. The only reason Rousseau didn't start the first game is because he had battled an injury in camp. Hall played much more than Knowles. He was our...

When we cut the podcast after hiring him, this was one of my biggest concerns. The 2017 and 2018 class were disasters, and we weren’t aggressive enough in correcting those mistakes.

Our LBs stink, but that’s really the product of bad recruiting and injuries. The only young LB that knew what he was doing without an offseason was Flagg, and he played. He would have played more if not for an ill-timed case of Covid.

But it’s not based on evidence. Hall started 11 games as a sophomore and was second on the team in tackles. The year before that he backed up two NFL players.

Who should’ve played on defense that didn’t?

I don’t think Manny has a seniority issue at all. The only reason some older, less-talented players were on the field is because he didn’t recruit better replacements. Shaq, Pinckney and McCloud played early. He benched Blades for Couch. The only real seniority issue I can think of was Patchan...
