I'm baffled how anybody on here thinks that hand-outs are a good thing. If she EARNED the spot and COULD ACTUALLY KICK...nobody would have a gripe. What don't yall get about that?

1. Athletes DESERVE lesser academic standards than the average student. If I have to explain why, then you've never played ball. 2. Just cause they have lower academic standards doesn't mean that everybody on the football team excels at that bare minimum. I have football players with 3.8-4.5...

They EARN most of their preferential treatment. They're talented, dedicated and good at what they do. They bring tons of money into their school. This person was GIVEN preferential treatment because they have a ******.

Also, I'm about 87% positive that her "squib kick" was negotiated so that there wouldn't be an actual live kick return, thus keeping her out of harms way and saving her (and Vandy) from further embarrassment. Can you imagine the backlash if you let a girl kick the ball off and it was taken back...

I don't have a problem with a woman participating in men's sports IF THEY'RE GOOD ENOUGH and THEY EARNED IT. But she was HANDED the opportunity (for whatever reason) and is being painted as a legitimate ground-breaking hero. Ground-breaking would have been if she EARNED IT. THAT deserves to go...
