I did it a year ago about Gino and look where it got me? You can't make this stuff up. Apparently, I need to be George Costanza and do the opposite.

@scane, don't leave us now. I refuse to kick my dog, so, what would we do without commiserating about Canes baseball on this board year after year.

This is truly becoming apparent despite all the hoopla around Rad and how it was going to be "different" this time. Money talks, bs walks. Also doesn't bode well for the football team. Never do business w friends and family - I guess the Miami admin never heard that expression.

Duke's, UVA's and Vandy's are all similar. Stanford's, ND'S and several Ivy League schools are quite a bit larger. Now, how they deploy those, I don't know.

Have to believe the delay can only be good news. Why wait on announcing unless there was a CWS participant in the mix?

Who's your pitching coach in that scenario?

Let's roll w Tulo and his own assistants at this point. At least he's young, hungry and supposedly a tireless worker. And in his short time at Texas, both the offense and defense showed marked improvement.

What do anything of these guys, including former players, know about hiring a competent coaching staff? This sounds like amateur hour all over again if these people are in the know/involved.

Hopefully, the names that can help us will be patient a little while longer, especially pitchers. The fact that we have received publicity (good and bad) for NIL and our new found financial resources, should help. And maybe we're eyeing Wake's coach(es) or, as several have pointed out, surely...

Hope he watched the 8th inning of Wake game tonight. He needs to win right away IMO - the portal can allow you to do so.

He would have to bring in a right hand man Asst/potential successor/recruiting coordinator immediately, wouldn't he? If for no other reasons, we'd need a proven recruiter (and 3b coach as well since I don't recall him doing it at LSU).

I am fine w this logic, but he'd better work a heck of a lot harder in recruiting arms then as pitching coach. As @scane pointed out recently, we're left w Crowther and Scinta from 8 or 9 pitchers in the original 2022 class. That's unacceptable (injuries or not) for any P5 D1 baseball program...

So, who's the recruiting coordinator in this scenario - good lord.

Whoever MiamiTheUMan is, the fact that he joined today and is basically giving us the press release draft talking points, me thinks we have our new head coach already and the weekend is simply a formality.

I agree - tail wagging the dog. And I also can believe Gino quit totally on his own. You could see in his body language that he was stressed and not enjoying himself.

This reeks of a S Fl back room deal, if true. What happened to doing and trusting a professional search? At least w Pollard or Tulowitski, you'd know you are getting young guys who will work their *** off to build something and develop their players.
