I've had the Michter's US1 bourbon, Michter's 10 and Michter's American Whiskey. Michter's is definitely different from everything else ive ever had. If the Michter's that you had last night was from one of your open bottles sometimes bourbon is better after it breathes.

Michters is another one of my favorites. Different from any other bourbon that ive ever had. Woodford Reserve and Michters are the only two bourbons that i know of that are either distilled at lower proof or entered into the barrel at lower proof. Never had the 20yr that Hester is displaying...

I have a lot of friends and know a lot of other people that work for Buffalo Trace and almost every one of them will say the best bourbon on site will be either Eagle Rare or Weller 12 yr. The Weller 12 is also Pappy 12 year lot b. Perfect example of what im saying is before most people knew...

Same here man! It is absolute insanity what people pay for bourbon. I would bet huge money in a blind taste test of older Pappy versions(15,20,23 yr) that most people would choose the other product.

💯! Heaven Hill released store pick bourbon a few years back and they had 3 barrels to choose by taste with the age on top of the barrels. Of course everyone picked the oldest. The following year they did it "blindly". They put out 3 barrels with no age and let the store owners pick which barrel...

Same here. Availability or price gouging is a problem here also and i live right in the heart of bourbon country. Eagle Rare is my favorite but it's now a 100.00 bottle when i was buying it for 35.00 2 years ago.

Woodford is a rarity for me. I usually don't care for high rye bourbons but really do like Woodford reserve. They do something that is rare. They either distill it at lower proof or add water to it before barrel entry. Only 1 other distillery does that , that i know of and i like their bourbon...

If you like BT I'd give the EHT a try. Same mashbill as BT just aged longer and barrel selected by a certain taste profile. Where EHT originally came from. Shutdown in 1972 i think. Beam bought it in 1987 sold it 20?? and Castle and Key reopened it about 5 years ago

I've worked in the bourbon business(Jim Beam)for 15 years. My favorite pours are Eagle Rare, **** Creek and Old Rip Van Winkle 10yr. Ive had most of the highly sought after bottles like all of the Pappy variations,Weller 12, Elijah Craig 18 yr and a lot of others. Try different brands and...
