USC is always the right coach away from being a playoff program. They’ll dominate the PAC and have no recruiting challengers near them when they’re run right. They have money and legacy.

Player personnel and GM would be the same role here I would assume. I think there’s another school with this type of set up.

No it’s not. Highsmith has actually worked in the NFL in management. That experience is light years ahead of where we are, even if he worked for a ****** NFL team, there’s plenty learned there. And I didn’t say AD - I said involved - like in a football GM sense or as a consultant.

Because he understands football unlike the people choosing before.

I’m hopeful though. I have no idea what they’ll do but if someone like Highsmith is involved, there will be competence in the room making decisions.

I think when you look at who we could realistically have a shot at and who we would be willing to hire, that name makes a lot of sense.

Unfortunately I don’t see them touching Freeze. I think Kiffin would go elsewhere first. Just don’t see it for us. If we aren’t getting Mario then who knows.

He could go to UiF easily I think.
