It's always a good idea to think about the future of the Miami Hurricanes. Two prospects for 2029, Josiah Brooks and Cayden Gaskins, played at a higher level during the Nike EYBL this past weekend for Nightrydas Elite and really showed out.

Josiah does not look like your ordinary 8th grader, standing at 6-foot-2, who is very lengthy on the court. Over the weekend, the lefty guard scored 24 points, shooting 3/3 from behind the arc, while also grabbing 5 rebounds, dishing out 3 assists, and making 3 steals on Saturday. While Cayden, the incoming 6-foot-8 freshman, had a solid performance, he has decided to transfer to Christopher Columbus for his upcoming season.

If you follow South Florida high school sports, you might recognize the last names Brooks and Gaskins. Josiah is the younger brother of Ja’Corey Brooks, who was once a target for the Hurricanes and played wide receiver at Booker T. Washington. Gaskins is the younger brother of Caleb Gaskins, who is currently a huge basketball recruit for the Hurricanes.

Miami is positioning itself favorably for Caleb Gaskins. If everything goes well, his younger brother Cayden could hopefully join him in Miami in the near future if they both choose to come to Coral Gables.

Check out some of their highlights from this past weekend at the EYBL Circuit:
