WR Marquez Ezzard update

Mentioned on the podcast last week that Coach Dugans seemed to be locking in on Ezzard as the fourth wide receiver target and that it was a real possibility he ended up as a Cane.

I spoke to one source close to Ezzard this morning who confirmed that he is very serious about Miami and the Canes even hold a slight edge. One person who is working hard to recruit Ezzard behind-the-scenes is fellow Georgia product and QB commit Jarren Williams. Williams said he feels like there's a "real good" shot for the Canes here and noted that he will already be enrolled at Miami when Ezzard comes down to Coral Gables on January 18th weekend for his visit, so he wants to be in his ear the whole trip.

Can't lie. Base on what I saw initially I didn't want him.. Now that I'm starting to see what is probably his actual senior film I'm starting to like him. What I watched then compared to what I'm seeing now he looks like a completely different player. I got no problem taking him now. He looks like a 4.5 guy.

Definitely isn't fast, but I'm not sure he's any slower than Cager, Dayall Harris, or Langham. And this kid at least looks physical and strong. This is a kid I'd expect to be a beast when he's asked to block unlike Cager who is absolute trash at it even though he's like our biggest WR. And This kid definitely has some moves, and is difficult to tackle.

Anyways, I saw his most recent tape (didn't see it before) and he looked a little faster. 4.6 maybe 4.5.
reminds me a more of Jarvis Landry then Boldin.

He ran a 4.79 2017 opening not a 4.5 kid in season ...IMO. speed isn't his strength tho....he could turn out to be a good possession reciever down the road...who knows???

His senior film definitely looks really good. He plays decent competition, my old highschool is actually on his film which is 6A. Plays not to far where I’m from too. I’m starting to change my opinion on him. Looks like a good option for the last receiver spot

At some point you have to have somebody you can count on to catch a ball and get you a first down.We really didn’t have that other than Berrios this year.

I’ll take any kid that will catch the ball in traffic when it’s 3rd and 6-7 and he’s right at the stakes on a constant basis over a kid that can run a 4.4 and catches one ball every 3rd game for a TD.

We got plenty of speed,especially with the kids coming in.We Need people that can catch the ball and move the chains.

Every WR you sign should have that ability. Just because you're not all that fast doesn't mean you're automatically a 1st down machine.

Reggie Wayne wasn't a burner, but all he did was catch passes and get first downs. Well, and touchdowns. This kid is a take.

What does it have to with running a 4.79 40 and 13.04 100? The kid is slow....doesn't mean he can't be a great hs player tho...keep in mind... bullying hs dbs doesn't always translate to college....the kid is a 4* ESPN 300 etc.... if the staff wants him as a strong possession WR Ezzard definitely brings that to the table......
