It said the last coach. The last coach. The last coach. That would be ALbortion.

So you can’t read.
Oh now I get it, the last time we hired a coach with a losing record was al Golden. This means any coach in the future will be a failure if they have a losing record even though they have no ******* ties to al Golden. It’s a good thing the patriots didn’t take that approach 🤦🏼‍♀️

If Manny was the guy you'd already announce it. If you even have to think about it he aint the guy. When Urban retired from Taint they promoted Ryan Day that same day.

No Manny
No Schiano
No Mario
That's my only stipulations honestly. So many good coaches out there and we wanna hire with nepotism. Butch is the only exception pass on everyone else with miami connections none of them are elite or potentially elite coaches.

Diaz wouldn’t be my first choice, but if what your saying is, defense would still be awesome and offense would be good with an innovative OC hire. That sounds like wins to me? Wouldn’t winning help make Many a better recruiter?

Our defense was really good, but we don't know how good they actually were because of our competition. Toledo was the only top 30 scoring offense we played. I don't think all of our problems will go away with an innovative OC. The QB room is a mess. We have no oline depth and our starters are shaky. We just lost 3 starting DBs and Joe Jackson may declare. Our LBs, that Manny coached, never really developed since their freshmen year.

We could do worse, but Diaz is an uninspiring hire from my point of view.

Now you can read, cool beans.

So every coach that has a losing record is guaranteed to be Bill B?

You’d ever think there is a reason they have a losing record?

Welp this aged poorly in the 3 minutes I posted this. smh

It was the Cheap way out of the jam.

The UM way of doing business.....

And to think, I actually thought that we would go with an offensive coach who would bring an innovative/explosive offense to Miami. The fact that all of the candidates that were mentioned in the OP, are nothing of the sort, makes me f'ucking infuriated.

Diaz? For real? Mario? WTF?

No way in ****, these are the top two options. Blake can't be this **** stupid.

We need a great head coach, who can win and recruit. Not some “offensive genius”.

Great coaches can hire great offensive coordinators. We can’t go down the road of fixing the problem-du-jour every time we have to make a HC hire. Hire the best guy we can get, no matter his background, offense or defense.

That’s the long-term solution.

I’m just saying this as a general rule, not in support of Mario or Manny because they wouldn’t be in my top 10.

I don’t think every coach with a losing record will be the next bill. I just don’t think you can eliminate anyone based upon their record without looking at each situation. Going 29-25 at Miami is different than going 29-25 in Ames for example.

Personally, I want someone who wants to be here and can be here for several years. I’ve never understood the Mario hate. I think it’s great when players or coaches with ties to Miami are successful because I think that means there is a possibility that they can come here and be successful. I still don’t know who I want to get hired (not that my opinion matters) but I would like to get someone that we don’t have to worry about replacing in 3-5 years.

First off, shouts out to coach richt and the job he did here, congratulations. I see alot of really dont have a clue on part of what made Miami great and alot of it had to do with hiring coaches with Miami ties. Coach rumph and coach diaz didnt need a learning curve, but coach banda is a fast learner. You go all the way back to the championship years, no staff was constructed without coaches that had Miami ties, they were either from here or played here. Whatever coach that is brought in, he would be wise to keep coach rumph, coach banda and jess simpson.

Im not trying to put the blame on anyone but im curious to know how many tackles did our linebackers have against wisconsin.

This next headcoach hire is going to be interesting, whoever it is, he's going to have to be a guy that understands Miami and the type of players he'll be coaching, otherwise he's going to be in for a culture shock with the players and the city!

The irony that Richt leaving with such class and dignity probably saved Blake James' job. Richt may have served our long term interests better if he refused to quit and required the massive buyout. Then James would have to be shown the door.

Bump.
