What if there's a miscommunication in pass protection and a player worth multiples of that gets hurt?

I'm not disagreeing, but there's more to the decision than money.
The question is then who let our multi-million dollar QB get injured? Was it the 2 snaps Cantwell played?

Damari Brown sucks and anyone who says otherwise deserves to be publicly humiliated
He had two poor plays. Is playing a bit slow but I wouldn’t say he sucks brother! We don’t put our players down like that. It’s clear we need OJ, Xavier, and even Slime back

He was dinged up and we had Martinez and then Brown in the lineup. During the playoffs, he was great. Move Lofton to FB to help. He’s big, blocks well and can be a good outlet pass receiver like Brown.
Now that Fletch has to go through the whole season with that many reps, he will get hurt.
Now our backups are a downgrade..jmo

Every RB gets hurt bro lol

No back is going to not get dinged up

That's different from "always injured" like you said.. He's been pretty durable in his career

Big and Old at LB? Are you kidding me? You can’t be old as a negative thing in College when you would still be considered young in the NFL. Those older LB’s just can’t cover anyone. The are good against the run and good in pass rushing. We do need to keep developing the other LB’s.

I think any of the LBs can pass rush, the older LBs are probably slightly better playing the run.

Thornton isn’t good in coverage don’t care what he did in practice. He wasn’t good in coverage at bc and so far this year he hasn’t been good in coverage vs stanford or wf.

The interior o-line is bad and I would like to know what’s going on on green tree because the things we were told about this o-line isn’t true at all. They should have hit the portal for a proven guy or 2.

Hetherman likes playing the soft zone whether the DBs are fully healthy or not. He needs to get more aggressive coverage wise because Stanford and wf wrs shouldnt be getting open that easy
Yeah not getting OL in the portal is mind blowing

He was able to sit on the sideline with Brown backing him up and we never missed a beat. We better do something is all I’m saying.
I also want to say the Heatherman got us back on track in the 4th….go canes

It’s still early, but the distinction between this year and last year to me is less physicality and body types.

The diminished physicality really manifested itself in the poor tackling. I think this can be addressed. That can be improved.

However, In terms of size, both OL and DL are smaller than last year. I wonder if Mirabal can move some pieces around to get more size on OL. As season progresses, hopefully Cantwell and Congdon improve and take more reps.

I like Brown as a cover 2 corner. If Miami plays cover 6 he's a great 2-side guy. Big and strong, can play the run and screen. I don't want him in man deep with anyone unless it is by a last second check from the safety

I’m not concerned about OL. Mario is giving guys an opportunity while getting the freshmen up to speed. The OL will come together.
The fact that SJ is starting should concern everyone. Our HC is supposed to be an oline guru and his oline coach is supposed to be one of the best ( arms and legs, Alex ), yet we trot out the worst guard in the ACC every week. Whether it be in recruiting, development, evals or portal, that's a failure.

I doubt SJ remains a starter.

Hindsight… such a gift isn’t it? Were you saying that at the time or only on Monday morning when the problem showed itself?
Yeah, I figured….

Hindsight? Buddy - you and I dont get paid to evaluate the talent internally- that falls on Mario and Mirabol. I know Mario is paid 7 figures to make that assessment, and Mirabol high 6 figures. They are paid well to project forward, and develop the talent they have. Either they did not project or develop properly. and thats ok, no one is perfect- but someone has to own it.
