Hillery, Herbert & Dykstra are OL's that should never take another snap at Miami again.

I doubt we push all 3 out, but we def need to send at least two of them on their way & replace'em with a GT.

They're not depth, they're liabilities that can't be played in a real game. Even with a better OL coach in Justice, I wouldn't want him saddled with having to go through a full Spring & Fall camp with them in the 2-deep.
You can't do that. You can only take on 25 new players per class. I'm not sure when that number resets itself but right now we are at 24

Agreed with this. Having them here, especially in the 2-deep takes quality practice snaps away from guys who could actually contribute.

Plus, I remember McKinnie calling out Hillery on his attitude issues. Then watching Hillery get snaps and how bad he looked told me that he's officially a bust and not worth more time.

If a kid is not willing to listen to Bryant McKinnie trying to teach them things about what it takes to play OL at a high level, then they need to be shown the door, and quickly.

A guy that played 20 games in 3 years would be on par with what we have now. No need to rush this.

Yep. With only 2 spots left, you have to be very picky. When it comes down to it, I'd rather see our same 5 out there again next year getting more experience than bring in a one year rental who is only marginally better than what we have.

People don't realize how valuable those 25 counter's per year are nowadays. If we get an All-conference level starter at OT for one season, then great. But if we end up with another Tommy Kennedy, or even just an Ousman Traore, I'll roll with what we got and apply that IC to a high school kid next year. You take too many transfers, and you will never get to 85 scholarship players.

Our biggest need is a starter level corner. If we can't get one of those guys or a lock down LT, then we should just save the schollies for HS players. I've been thinking for a while that a transfer WR was important, but learning more about the numbers crunch we are in, I'm off that now.

Wonder if there is any chance you could get a graduate transfer without a scholarship? It's just one semester and it's pretty easy to get financial aid regardless. Are athletes not on scholarship allowed to get financial aid or is that some kind of impermissible benefit?

Don’t give up on Zion he is going to be a beast in this offense...watch!

athletically yes he could but if he doesn’t learn to get out of his stance quicker and have a better kick step, even a fast paced spread isn’t going to prevent sacks and pressures.

We know who the guys are that aren't going to look good in any offense. I think it comes down to how well/quickly Rivers picks things up, and if Zion can make a leap. Otherwise we need 2.

Rivers is a big boy, is he used to the pace Lashley wants to run? Happy he's on campus already so he can get acclimated this spring.

Yes, Rivers could be the most important high school recruit this year for us.
