Update: Thornton not at FNL, plans on Miami tonight

July 2nd: Booker T. Washington WR Tyquan Thornton told CanesInSight this morning that he plans on attending Miami paradise camp later this month.

Thornton is a big target for the Hurricanes at the wide receiver spot as he has seen his stock rise in a major way this offseason.

Update on Saturday, July 22nd: After Thornton had been planning to visit UF for their Friday Night Lights trip and then make the trip down to Coral Gables for Paradise Camp, the Booker T WR did not make the expected visit to Gainesville.

He is in Miami this morning down at FIU's team camp with his Booker T squad. He has told Miami coaches that he will be in Coral Gables later for Paradise Camp.

Sources have told CanesInSight that UM is sitting in good position with the speedster, who Miami is targeting to close out their wide receivers class.

Fake news or good news. Recruiting is fluid so you have to wait and see what happens. It's a good thing until it isn't, but my money is on Richt until proven otherwise. Kid is a gator lean but Miami is his dream school. He's going to shut it down when he commits but he'll still take visits. Wants to stay close to home but is open to leaving the state. Needless to say I'm optimistic that this one bears watching down to the wire.

"He will shut it down when he commits but will still take visits" .....am I the only one that sees the stupidity here?

If he's shutting it down then he had no reason to go see anywhere else cause if he's shutting it down it's a waste of time...right?

I'm further convinced that the Webster dictionaries in S. Fla have had the word " commit " removed from all of them.

I'm sure UFs strategy is to get the kids there on Friday and convince them to stay Saturday on an unofficial visit. Getting them there on Friday is half the battle.

Yeah I'm seeing a few kids are playing the "going to both camps" game. I guess we will see how serious they are about us if they can be convinced to cancel on us and stay in Gainesville an extra day as I'm sure UF has something planned to entice them to stick around.

Given the fact that we sent ice Harris packing and the known love affair he has with Shannon, why are we wasting time with this kid? Just take Moore or Austin and be done with wr this year.

Ice was there in June with booker T. Still has good relationship with the school. Two of his sons went to college here.

Ice was there in June with booker T. Still has good relationship with the school. Two of his sons went to college here.

Plus UF treated Treon very poorly for pretty much no reason. They kept Callaway and used Treon as a scapegoat in the sexual assault incident

Of course I'm with you all the way on this but it's funny with HS kids. They don't necessarily see it that way. For many of these kids getting away from home and going to a "college" town where they are literally gods on campus and the only sports stars in town is very appealing. Obviously I think UM is a much better experience and decision but I'm biased.
