Update on Transfer DE's

Miami is mulling over adding two more transfers from the portal, both on the defensive line. Former Virginia Tech DE Trevon Hill and former UCLA DE Jaelan Phillips have both publicly expressed interest in transferring to Miami and I can confirm there is mutual interest from UM’s side as well. However, Miami is doing their due diligence here and vetting both before making them surefire takes, as both Hill (off-field) and Phillips (medical) had issues at their previous stops.

If UM decides they want them, I’m told UM feels very confident that they will land both, and there doesn’t seem to be other real contenders for either at this time. Phillips in particular is trying to set up an official visit to UM for this weekend. The ball seems to be in Miami’s court on this one.

It was a tax break joke as pro teams use that argument to sell free agents to playing in Florida. I think these $EC schools do exactly what you're saying and more. We'll never compete with that dollar for dollar with incoming freshmen... So I guess it's a good thing that #WeOwnThis****ingPortal !!!

But at the same time there is nothing wrong with the staff proceeding with confidence towards a kid with locker room issues...There are things besides talent which can cause teams to not win games. And one of them is a me-first attitude, locker room cancer type...Am I saying the kid is one, no...But that's up Diaz and the staff.

100% in agreement, no more silent commits.... spread the net geographically on recruiting & add more offers during recruiting season make the UM offer seem special rather than ho hum till something better comes along.... to many games are being played by s.Fla divas

I mean I mostly agree with you but the dude did get kicked off his team. You can't let a guy like that just waltz onto campus without doing the due diligence. If he's a guy that could be a cancer, no matter the talent, you stay away. No need for that after last season. If he clashed with Fuente because Fuente is a douche, then that's somewhat of a different story.
