Update on Transfer DE's

Miami is mulling over adding two more transfers from the portal, both on the defensive line. Former Virginia Tech DE Trevon Hill and former UCLA DE Jaelan Phillips have both publicly expressed interest in transferring to Miami and I can confirm there is mutual interest from UM’s side as well. However, Miami is doing their due diligence here and vetting both before making them surefire takes, as both Hill (off-field) and Phillips (medical) had issues at their previous stops.

If UM decides they want them, I’m told UM feels very confident that they will land both, and there doesn’t seem to be other real contenders for either at this time. Phillips in particular is trying to set up an official visit to UM for this weekend. The ball seems to be in Miami’s court on this one.

That's some serious talent and depth on the defensive side of the ball if we land all four of them and amazing considering how bad our class was looking just a month ago. Unreal work by Manny and the staff to pick up the pieces and bring in such a premier transfer class to make up for the recruiting shortcomings of the prior regime.

my understanding is with phillips it might have been more about chip kelley and the different defensive scheme than about injuries.

Diaz is no dummy like Richt was in these situations. If Bogle wanted in, he would already be in...at this point, he is jerking us around. And Diaz knows it. Only in SoFl would a stud DE, who just saw how our DEs eat like crazy in this aggressive scheme..look for all the reasons in the world NOT to want to come here. LOL.

(and no I don't think he got bags either. You don't drop bags off to a backup plan option like Bogle if you are Bama. In Bamas mind he should be glad they even still kept his number in their contacts)

But it's not really like free agency. NFL only has to deal with roster spots. NCAA has the 25 per year limit. I love the moves for this year but I dont think it's sustainable, it will get hard to maintain a 85 man roster.

I've wondered about the cash app as well myself. I've seen tons of college athletes tweet out there cash app handle. Is this the future of bag dropping?

He didn't say he was retiring. He said he was withdrawing from UCLA because of his injuries and taking time to heal. He thanked Jim Mora and that coaching staff by name but lumped Chip and his into everyone else. I think this is a kid that got frustrated with the injuries and was compounded by Chip Kelly not caring a lick about the defense.

It has been posted at least 3 times in the Hill thread alone.
