Just look at this, d-linemen and safeties started lining up to play here but no cb's and linebackers, lol, you know why, it's the scheme. Now having coach t-rob in here might put a band-aid on it for a minute because he'll have guys out their thinking now that he's here we're going to get back to being more aggressive but if baker is still the d-co, let's see how it looks. This back, when the penn disgrace morons were here, linebackers came here with no hesitation or problems, but d-linemen kept going elsewhere, why, bullshat *** scheme for several positions, they even at first convinced cb's to play here early on until ****'s started seeing all that off ball coverage.
We signed just 2 4* LBs over all five of golden’s classes at miami, according to rivals.

Shaq was a 4* who committed under dorito but signed with richt. Not counting him in the other 2 (who were kirby and grace iirc), or for manny, given the handover.

We’ve signed 2 4* LBs over 5 years under manny as dc / hc, per rivals (wilder and huff).

we haven’t evaluated well and manny didn’t recruit the position hard enough or well enough. not disagreeing on your scheme point but the bigger difference under dorito was he did understand the lb position and evals for it. some of his kids had to go elsewhere for other reasons (jackson, paul, e.g.).

manny ignored lb recruiting as dc, and didn’t bring in a serious lb coach when he became HC.

I can careless about that bullshat star rating system from the no nothing nerd recruiting sites, means nothing to me, bottom line under the penn disgrace moron regime we had our best tandem of linebackers here at the same time in my opinion since barrow, rohan and jesse, in dzp52, g-paul and eddie "bath salts" Johnson, ***** what the star system said. The problem was the moron regime consistently kept kicking guys off the team as True freshman and sophomore instead of letting them grow up. Than after them, that next wave had, kirby, jawand, and a player had he been able to stay healthy, josh witt and than gabe, grace and alex "phucked up bad" figueroa came in that 3rd wave.

Them morons knew how to recruit the linebacker position, the first 3 years they were signing at minimum 3 to 5 linebackers per class, and almost all of them were balla's, I didn't even mention gilligan's island own, thurston armbrister!

Just decide your point. You made the comment that LBs don’t want to come here because of the scheme. I tried to point out that based on who recruits them, the evidence doesn’t really support that. What it supports is manny’s a lazier lb recruiter (fewer scholarships to the spot despite needs) and worse evaluator. Your response highlights this, because all the guys you mention were 3* kids on rivals. That tells you who was recruiting them, more or less.

I don’t care what stars we recruit. My point over and over on this site has been do the work, evaluate well and get the right kids. High stars or no stars, don’t care. But I tried to respond to the claim you made, that our LB talent problems are because of scheme. You supported this by pointing to our prior scheme guys. It looks a lot more to me like manny didn’t recruit the spot well and dorito did. Further evidence of that would be that 2 of the 3 guys you mentioned were not local kids. Paul was from Gator country and Jackson from out of state iirc. The difference is dorito knew the importance of lbs and went to find them, and manny blew it in his 3 years as dc.

Well if you replace coach rumph with somebody from the crib, I can't be mad at that. It was just gone look stupid thinking we gone get Miami style football without having any Miami style coaches, t-rob, you on deck, let's see if he can "uphold the standard" coach rumph and coach banda already coached the #1 secondary in the nation, this should be an easy transition, cause he talk it like we talk it, however i will be looking to see who actually coached the more aggressive db's. I'm looking to be seeing this or better, cause this how them boys started playing after coach rumph got here:

That front seven helped that back end alot....they played their azzes off that year.

People forget that Jamie Gordinier started over Pinckney but got med retired on literally the first play of the season.

He would've been a good one.

in between the LB tandems you listed we did have Webster, Morgan and Campbell...just saying.

By the way it was Barrow, Smith and Jesse that made up the Bermuda Triangle

I know. Its just a ridiculous thing to say (especially by someone that claims to know so much) that I just gave him one example. Also didn't want to get sucked into the Calvin vortex.

yeah, agreed. the simpler point is the bermuda triangle was barrow, smith and armstead. darrin smith was amazing. 2x AA iirc.

The scheme is not LBer friendly. We leave them hanging while the D lineman go after TFLs

Correction, I never said we had a "linebacker talent" problem, that's more of your thinking which is why you brought up the star whores system in the first place. My point is the same, linebackers and cb's are not lining up like the safeties and d-linemen to come in here because the scheme does not prove to highlight their skills in this system. In that bullshat scheme the moron regime was running, linebackers we're very vital to that system, so again, they had no problems recruiting that position. Stop making excuses for many with the " lazy re

I was actually going to mention him as well, but I'm glad you brought that exact point up, the penn disgrace morons disgust me with this binders/road maps to nowhere and the pillars to post non-sense, we can call them alot of things, but lack of linebacker talent was not one of them, the reason linebackers wasn't coming here was because of coach diaz and his scheme.

But since coach patke became a full-time coach, the linebacker recruiting started picking up!

Dude if you think that trio was better than Vilma, dj, and CC you are smoking crack

You can say that, but let's not act or pretend like jaquan johnson & redwine, we're not legit, or that #28 jackson was not an all ACC caliber db, or that trajan bandy was trash, front seven or no front seven, the secondary and d-line were legit. Keep in mind, most in here were worried like girls after corn and the crew left, and than started bytching even more like women cause those 2 db's chose to go to the security& exchange commission conference, people crying bout depth and what not, in the meantime all coach rumph did was help introduce college football to the #1 secondary in the nation with no worries.

People been bytchin and moaning bout db depth for 5 years now, as if it's ever been a problem, lol, and since coach rumph got here, NO EXCUSES. The problem with most people in here, they ***-backwards, they don't care about actually on field production, they just feel good about being star whores. This guy tyrique stevenson will be celebrated damyum near like alot of the same clowns did when transfer tate came in. This man rique consistently got worked while at UGA, and transfer tate couldn't get work while at ohigho fake but these the type people alot of the new clUeless UM fans are now!

dude you can’t hold a thought and can’t just acknowledge your error. Too many folks seem to think the issue around here is either X or Y, either scheme or talent, either recruiting or evals, etc. As I have been telling folks for almost 20 years, around this program it’s always BOTH.

You said the old guys had people ‘lining up’ to play LB here, and the new guys because of scheme struggle to find willing recruits. But the reality is our LB recruiting issues aren’t primarily a function of scheme. That’s not a defense of the scheme - it’s just facts. We know this because dorito recruited the position harder, went out of area more for it, gave more scholarships to it, and evaluated the kids better. Compared to dorito, manny recruited it lazy as DC, didn’t look far and wide, didn’t give a lot of spots out, and evaluated poorly.

The point of the star comparison is to highlight that they were recruiting from the same pool of kids - which is relevant if you’re here claiming the types of kids dorito could recruit were so different. Data doesn’t support that at all. If dorito had kids lining up to play Lb here he’d have probably recruited a few more highly rated kids - they did so elsewhere on their roster back then and we continue to elsewhere in the roster. And again, I don’t care what kids stars are but you’re the one claiming this massive change in who wants to come here at LB. You called out Paul and Eddie Jackson as good Lbs - both were out of our home territory. Someone mentioned Gordiner - he was from NJ. Dorito recruited Kirby and Young from GA, Kinard from CA, Bond from juco.

What changed from dorito to manny was the number of spots allocated to LB, the effort they put into recruiting the spot, and their evals. Manny as DC couldn’t be bothered to recruit the spot he allegedly coached. Dorito was DC and LB coach also and he took the LB recruiting seriously. Manny may have started to figure this out because flagg. cave are out of area kids.

In any case, you’re completely wrong if you think i’m making excuses for manny - i’m one of his harsher critics. I pointed out that amongst his shortcomings is he **** the bed in Lb recruiting as DC and hasn’t fixed it as HC. He’s also failed to make sure we bring in CBs.

Finally, not sure why you now say we don’t have a talent issue at Lb - everyone can see that we do.

Rumph didn't recruit those kids and the scheme change helped them. Let's not act like they are pro bowl players now. We all knew that wasn't Rumph that was a scheme change that helped those kids. Of course they looked really good they were finally in attack mode and our interior DL was pretty good. Difference between Riq and Tate was....Tate wasn't going to play at OSU they got a better player.....Riq was cb1 and UGA did not want to lose him. Big difference
