Georgia paid $200,000 for Sony Michel. That was ~6 years ago and am sure the price increased markedly since then. I knew about Sony's payment, but some other poster on this Board said that they also provided jobs to his parents as well.

The "' Dawgs' " proximity to a National Championship last year will only spur greater donations to "the Foundation". A $500,000 signing bonus for a 5-star player would not surprise me, and I can 100% assure a signing bonus of at least $250,000 to Stevenson.

UM cannot pay recruits because 95% of their most devoted donors recoil in horror when someone discusses the football team. They want the "Duke of the Southeast" and that does not coincide with the football team.

I sat on Georgetown's Board of Governors for a year, and we NEVER paid recruits; however, the Trustees provided plenty of payments once the player arrived on campus.....

IIRC, the Cam/$200k is about as high as it got in the SEC. The $200k to Sony is in conflict with what I heard from a member of the staff. I know Sony got paid but the figure I heard was in the 5 figures. Regardless, I think your 250k/500k figures are on the high side.

You think wrong and 500k is already happening.

But he didnt report him??

Being a snitch in CFB doesn't pay off. You essentially ruin a kid's career before it even begins, then others are turned off by said person that snitched in the first place.

Nope. I worked for one of the largest hedge funds in Atlanta. They thought that Sony was transcendental AND they needed to convince him to play alongside another 5-star running back. Michel is of Haitian descent, the 'Dawgs "broke the bank" with him. According to the CEO, he received the highest payment ever doled out. [CEO had a private plane. Each trip on that vehicle is $50,000. The 'Dawgs ARE Georgia. We lived in Atlanta and it was the "Dukes of Hazzard" compared to NYC, LA, SF, Miami, Boston or DC. You HAVE to pay exorbitant amounts to convince people to live in the rural South of Athens, Goergia!]

Also, from what our CEO said, very few people on the staff knew. Richt suspected it, but they kept him in the dark and they would have fired him if he did not recruit said player. Maybe 2 people on the staff knew. Richt made it difficult for them because they had to convince him first. That is probably why they hired an Alabama "guy"...... He gives them a list and it eliminates the process of convincing the former integrity laden coach.

You can always have someone else snitch for you. That way it never gets back to you. There is no way this coach is the only person alive who knows about the car.

Kind of like how they did in Nixon...

Iirc, someone on Golden's staff did that on UF and it didn't exactly go over well. Because it eventually made its way back to the source.

Some of you are going to drive yourselves crazy. We recruited the **** out of this kid, if we win big maybe we are in it, if it’s bags he’s after we’re out.

These Foundations are too sophisticated. There are now 6-degrees of separation between "the Foundation" and the payment. The Head of the NCAA is part of the scam. Only IRS involvement ends this criminal activity.

A UM donor told me recently: "play to your strengths". UM can say: "7% of high school football stars play more than 1 season in the NFL and only 20% of those actually walk away from the game with decent savings. It costs $65,000 to ATTEND UM and $8,000 to attend Alabama. Graduates of the 'University of Miami' earn multiples more than Alabama's." You can easily the city as well (live in Beverly Hills, South Beach, Lebron James, etc....)

The median UM graduate will earn a PV of $2.8M over his career versus $1.2M for an Alabama graduate. USe that for recruiting!

UM cannot play the "bag" game and they should not. We can be a perennial top-10 team with 3-stars from Miami alone.......

LSU is literally bankrupt. Type "LSU, funding" in Google and you will see that the state of Louisiana can no longer provide the requisite funding needed to run the school's academic programs. The ONLY thing they have NOT cut is football................ In 10-years, Alabama and Louisiana are going to have a hard time funding recruiting.... Will Bryant Jr.'s kids continue to dole out millions per annum? Can they?

thats what Im saying. Even if the bag game is real there are other things you can sell the players. We cant just blame the bags all the time we gotta be better.
