As the 2027 recruiting cycle begins to heat up, the Hurricanes are hard at work trying to land some of the top players across the country. One of those names includes top-10 2027 wideout Dakota Guerrant who caught up with CanesInSight following his visit for Miami’s matchup versus Florida. Here’s everything the Michigan native had to say about the ’Canes:

On his visit to Miami:

“I feel like my visit was great. You know, first time being on a College GameDay visit. And just being around the atmosphere was just electrifying, especially those guys coming out with the dub against the in-state rivals.

On the atmosphere at UM:

“Oh man the fans are lit, you know, they were telling me, ‘Come to Miami, our girls better than Florida’ and just a whole lot of love from the fans, knowing my name and stuff like that.”

On freshmen getting playing time at The U:

“Yeah, it's definitely something that goes into my decision. They play freshman and those freshman dominate at the receiver position. So that's something I pay attention to and look at.

“Coach KB is gonna put the guys in the position to be great, so I feel like this may be a great great fit for me.”

On comparing Miami to his hometown in Detroit:

“I feel like it's just nice here, I like everything about it, but I’m still figuring it out.”

On how his HS season is going:

“Going good right now. We’ve beat some teams that we weren't supposed to beat. So I feel like it's going great for us and we’re gonna go win a state championship this year.”

On interactions with Miami’s coaching staff:

“For me it's nothing but love and great energy from the coaches here, coach KB he real, real.”

“And then talking to coach Cristobal he’s very experienced, he was on coach Saban’s staff so I feel he just takes that and just builds off that to be one of the greater head coaches.”

On his playing style:

“I feel like I just do a little bit of everything. I can line up in the slot, on the outside, I can go up top, routes smooth.”

“I don’t drop nothing."

On recruiting timeline and teams in the mix:

“I’ll probably end up committing around June, but I’m gonna take my OV’s and see how that goes.”

“But right now I'm just taking my visits to the schools that I'm most interested in and trying to get the full experience.”

“Miami, Texas A&M, Penn State, Ohio State and Oregon.”

No Michigan or MSU? Maybe he’s like me and learned that you don’t have to live in terrible weather 9 months out of the year
