Tickets still available for Miami vs. Notre Dame

It seems alot of fans are just buying orange parking passes and don’t plan to go into the game but instead tailgate and party in the lot! I know 4 large groups that would rather do that than to pay $300+ PER ticket. The tailgates will be a vibe.

Ugh - Unfortunately this year the ticket office 'sold out' of orange parking passes.

Sucks as I have four season tickets -_-

Hard rock stadium seats about 65K which is way too big for us.

Ideally, we’re in a stadium with a capacity of 50k.
I had it in my head Hardrock was like 80-90.

But yeah...50K probably is a sweet spot. It would suck for big games because those tickets when we are winning would be absurd.

300 a ticket not including parking food etc is a hard price for families. come on man. its not worth going to games anymore (i am a STH so ill be there) when income is limited and everything costs a lot more than it did (including housing (insurance, property taxes, utilities) when you can watch for free at home with all your comforts.

"Worth" is a question for each individual to decide for themselves. How do you, personally, value the experience relative to your disposable income? That's why I don't usually get offended by a fan choosing to stay home. On the flip side, I don't get too worked up over the costs, either. Ultimately, we all vote with our dollar.

Now if money is tight and you've got a family, I'd say leave the kids at home with abuela or call the babysitter. Bring the kids to the USF and Stanford games for less than it would've cost to take them to ND. If we're doing it right, that environment (ND at UM on a Sunday night before Labor Day week 1) probably isn't a great one for most children under 13 anyway.

If you have teenagers who are all about this U, put their asses to work if they really want to attend. Incentivize chores getting done, grades being on point, and/or community service in exchange for a ticket. You reap additional benefits/value while teaching the kids the value of work.

If you still can't swing it but really want to attend, well, I am sorry to hear that. But not every game is for every fan. The market dictates the price, and considering how close this is to a complete sellout at the moment, it seems the AD has more or less achieved the optimal price point (at least from a purely monetary perspective).

U can buy them aftermarket… for like $300 lol it’s crazy !

How many tickets are we even talking about here? It would be just like CIS to have this whole conversation over 500 tickets.

It really doesn’t matter if other schools charge $300 or more for tickets. Miami’s ticket office should know their market better. If a team has people lining up to pay $300 for nose bleed seats, then by all means, charge $300. If your team struggles to sell out games, maybe trying to milk them $300 for nosebleed seats isn’t a great move. Miami athletic department waaay overestimating their value again.
this. it is nowhere near worth the exp of forking over over a grand lets say for a family (these are the family section seats) vs watching at home with friends and throwing a party.

getting butts in seats should be the priority vs making a few extra bucks esp considering the lack of a great home atmosphere.

Why are we comparing to Orlando or Tampa now? I thought we were talking Clemson and Baton Rouge?

The point is there is a lot of wealth in Miami. There are a ton of people in Miami. Every time Miami gets clowned for having 17k in the stadium against Bethune people say it’s an event town, but now there’s an event and it’s not sold out 5 days from kickoff. Can we just admit this fanbase is not the same level of obsessed as those elsewhere? There’s nothing wrong with it, but the goalposts keep moving.
we were never on the same level of those. there is wealth in miami. that wealth isnt the heart of the canes fanbase hence why we cant really sell out for college games short of it being UF or FSU.

that wealth will go to a Panthers Stanley Cup final/playoffs or Heat finals/playoffs but not for this.

it is a niche sport that the international wealth that miami has isnt interested in.

even if it were 500 tickets - send those 500 tickets to football teams in the area for free (its a long weekend and its the non alcohol section). I always said this school falls short of embracing its core fans and community (hint: theyre not the rich guys who moved here for tax breaks but the local people struggling in this economy). this is another example of it. far better use to take the hit on those seats and get those filled with kids and coaches who can embrace and enjoy the experience.

my thing has always been - give away a lot of upper seats that dont sell to local schools/orgs and host a tailgate for them at the stadium with food and soda. take it out of the football budget because its worth the expense.

What TF else is there to do in Knoxville or Lincoln or College Station? There is serious competition for entertainment dollars in Miami. Same reason USC doesn't sell out.
Don't forget, its more convenient to watch the game at home with big screens tv in 4k! I glad, you mention USC! I'll add UCLA to that! USC and UCLA have alums galore in So Cal! They don't sellout! You watch the Pete Carroll era, I saw the stands! USC stadium is basically across the street from the campus! If and when, Miami starts winning consistent over the next 5 to 10 years, their viewership is going to go up to top 5! ****, in this state, FSU and UF fans will be watch Miami too!
