**** Cook and Lane. Matt Thomas seems to be a bit injury prone. Who knows if he'll ever do anything at Florida State.

Injury-prone? He's only a freshman and he was injured this year... I mean come on... Yearby is injured, it doesn't make him injury prone...

I believe he was pretty banged up his senior year of HS as well.

No I could have sworn he played all of his games and even killed it at the all-star game...

If Charlie Strong is smart, he should bolt from Lville now with Bridgewater gone.. Cash in while you're ahead basically..

Not really a matter of if but when FSU comes knocking.

This trickle down effect on future recruits from Cook, Harris, and Lane not coming to Miami can be avoided if Jimbo take the Texas job. I read a few article today that suggests that contract extension as a non factor with fishers future. Some articles are strongly suggesting that he will be the next coach in Texas in a week or two. This would help our recruiting a lot in the present & future.

No it wouldn't! Not when Charlie Strong takes the job at FSU!

You just ruined a good scenario for me man. Strong going to FSU would be horrible for us.

I haven't heard anything to make it a for sure, I'm just saying who I would hire if I was their AD. The man just beat UF and Miami in back to back bowl games, and has a chance to beat FSU soon because they will play each other every year. He can already recruit South Florida and he is doing it at Lousiville, just imagine what he could do at FSU. Yeah I think they are smart enough to go after him first! It might be an upgrade for them actually!

I agree, Strong to FSU might be worse then Fisher staying at FSU. My hope is that Strong takes the Penn State job. I know it's wishful thing, but that would be great for us on all fronts.

I love our class. Still can't stand letting top local talent walk away by the half dozen but whatever. At this point hold onto Valentine and Kaaya and give me another CB.

Our kids seem to be balling out at the All Star practices. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few of them get some extra stars next to their names for those of you that like that sort of thing.

Valentine is being viewed as a 5 star, top 3 DT in the nation type of talent based on his Army practices
Everyone loves what Chad Thomas is doing
Both the OL at the UA game (McDermott and Darling) are among the best there.
Linder is outperforming the expert's expectations
Newberg on Scout has said that Owens is a beast this week, Gibbons has done well, and Moten while not dominant has done well thus far.

Wish Yearby could be out there showing Cook and Lane what's up at the UA game.

Outside of Chickilo... it's usually a great sign when these kids go out and perform on this type of stage.

Homie, just stop! I heard he said no to Texas when they inquired about him. If that us true, why would he even consider going to PSU? The dude is smart enough to wait around for a Florida job where he can establish himself even more to the point that he just dominates the area in recruiting!

There are going to be a few players we will end up scratching our head over when this class is able to be evaluated. A few too many South Florida kids not offered or slow played / played the wrong way while we take some OOS players won't be nearly as good as other players around the country. Rosier over Treon Harris sticks out. Not offering a late riser like Dowels is another. I can't complain about our wide receiver haul, but I can't help but look at the group of players in our back yard that are going to be solid contributors around the country that we just didn't give the time of day to. Same with DB, which is the case most years. I like Gayot and Hester, I also take Bethel every time. JC Jackson would be a welcomed addition. But players like Dowels, Al Harris Jr., Michael Johnson, Treon Harris, among others are going to be ballers, too, wherever they end up.

We cant get everybody. Other than rosier and mccray im happy with this class

I quit reading at "our biggest mistake was not offering Treon Harris @ QB". GTFOH

Give him an honest shot to compete? If it were only that easy. He gets locked in a battle, loses out, then he and his old man go HAM on us for the next two decades.

I actually read that Strong already had an interview with the Texas AD at an undisclosed location. I read it in an article a few hours ago while I was trying to find out if Jimbo is still interest in Texas after signing his contract extension. If Strong waits one more year at Louisville, he could probably get his dream job at UF.

That could be true too!

We'd better hope to all **** that Jimbo doesn't leave if Charlie Strong or Petrino is his replacement.

Of all the commits we've lost or not recruited......Trwon is going to hurt the most.

Been saying it all **** year

Jackson, Lenius and a surprise commit or 2 is as good as a close as we can ask for

agreed on Rozier, but would rather have offered Flowers.

BINGO flowers put up numbers with a mediocre team and plus if he lost the job we would not have to worry about facing criticism from Ice or his followers. With Treon and Quinton how do you let two dade legends go and this is why the staff is always questioned on evaluations cause either two would of def been all cane.

I don't give a **** bout Noles but it's laughable to say he's injury prone and might not do anything in College. You could make same argument for Figatron.

Thank you very much Peter. I hope you are right on Valentine sticking and qualifying. If they hold everyone and add JC and a JUCO LB, this is a top 5 class, IMO. Do you think they will try to add someone like Ishmael to get a 4th WR?

BTW, I think you are missing an important angle on Treon. The fact is that it is a political situation that has to be handled delicately. Best thing is to be honest and more importantly avoid a headache. If they offered him as a QB, and he didn't win the job in a year, you can bet Ice would be ****ed and no matter what the staff said, he would be convinced they were ****ing his kid over and he would retaliate AGAIN. They already got ****ed by that dude last year, they aren't gonna ask for BTW drama again. No way in ****. Play it safe and stay away. Al can see from a mile away what would happen with Treon. Ice would force the staff to keep him at QB and start him no matter what under threat of cutting off the pipeline. The staff doesn't need to have a gun to their head like that. It isn't worth it. They are playing this the right way.

Couldn't agree more.

Last time I checked we have, assuming Kayaa comes, 2 Elite 11 Qbs on the roster going into next year. So y'all can get lost with that Treon ****. FSU's qb of the future is JJ Cosentino so I will put money on Treon never playing meaningful snaps there at QB.

THanks Peter, nice work. The only reason to not give Treon a shot at QB is the noise that would certainly have come blasting out of certain mouths with supportive press coverage if the kid didn't make starting position. Just think of the heat this board was heaping on Golden after each crappy game by Morris. THat said, himogin to FSU was worst case. They are lying to him--he is no where near the size they take for QBs. The problem is they can get away with it because they are the darlings of college football since St Bobby. Al should have taken him in place of Rosier on condition he redshirt. That would buy a year for Olsen or Kaaya to hopefully sieze the position. Treon could then convert of transfer with less drama and negative effect. I put more blame on the mouths of Luke, Ice, Selio and the rest of the hostile Miami press for Treon not getting a shot than Al. Me, I would have lied though my teeth like Jimbo, but can't say I blame Al. Imagine the "salavery" cries out of Luke it Thomas had come here and then wanted to go to USC?

I only disagree with one point. I think Chad is clearly the best player from Dade this year. Valentine is our most important recruit, but Chad is best player. Nothing wrong with Cook, but Joe was the starter and FSU's first pick-- they had to settle for Cook after we stole Joe. That is my view of it. But I get what you are saying.
